Of Inquisitors & pointy things... Galefire [artwork] thread

Recommended Posts

The background didn't really make any narrative sense, especially since 2 trained acolytes wouldn't be standing in the middle of a pool of light at night. Its is just supposed to be a couple of characters, not in any particular scene. The background in my next piece will actually make narrative sense, so then I won't feel weird having it there

A baller Inquisitor from my Dark Heresy scenario, he is in charge of those silly acolytes...

And some scary things we fought last time, but they ended up dying WAY too easily... they will be much tougher in the next go around!

The Inquisitor...I dunno. He's got a massive neck. I mean, he's a leaf-eating herbivore! The body is nice though, although there's very little that distinguishes him as an Imperial Inquisitor, rather than a generic fantasy character.

The second picture, on the other hand, is amazing. It's got enough things to make me say 'yeah, that's 40k alright', and yet also say 'OH CRAP!'. Seriously, that's scary good work. Would love to see you make a DH about a Guard squad trying to escape from a Chaos-run manufactorum around Halloween. Shivers just saying that!

To sum it up: you're a great artist, but you could use some stuff that makes your pictures 40k-related. Apart from that creepy 2nd pic...

I actually just updated the image a bit, so the neck isn't quite as... pronounced. I guess my gorget was throwing me off or something.

The character is dual purpose  but he could probably use a few more inquisitorial rosettes.

Should have more soon <_<

So Aaron Dembski-Bowden told me "I like a lot of things. I absolutely love this." about the top Draigo piece... pretty super awesome.

PM sent.

I have responded to you good sir.

Also, got some comps done on the burning of the nurglites in his forest/garden; probably won't get started till I return from Gencon though. Looks to be suitably epic, but possibly not as epic as Bloodthirster standing on top of lava-falls with braying bloodletters to his sides. That is actually kind of hard to top.
