Side note: Jaws uses the Iniative provided on the profile of the target(s), even with hammer time that I value isnt reduced to 1.

I'm not sure what your BRB says but page 8 on mine says:

In order to take the test, roll a D6. To succeed, you must score equal to

or lower than the value of the characteristic involved. Note that if a 6

is rolled, then the model automatically fails the test regardless of the

characteristic's value or any other modifier that might apply, and conversely a

1 is always a success

To me that says you can modify a characteristic...and the TH expressly modifies the characteristic known as INITIATIVE down to 1

don't have the BRB on me now, but doesn't it state somewhere that all non-ld characteristic tests are always on the unmodified chracteristic?

it does not, unless it's in some obscure location that has nothing do with characteristics or their tests, based on the index.

I like how much effort so many of us are putting into making this rule not work. It makes me happy that we're failing.

Aye. Wolf players, the Fang in particular, tend to gravitate towards handicapping ourselves until we can -prove- that we're right. Most other armies will simply assume that the most powerful interpretation is the correct one (See: Gray Knights+Dreadknight Shunt, Doomfist, et cetera, et cetera). Makes me proud to be a Wolf, it does.
