Plaguecaster
Hey everyone I am thinking of adding a Chapter Master (with relic blade, storm shield and artificer armour) with a 5 man man squad of Honour Guard (with chapter banner and chapter champion with thunder hammer) to my Ironclad Avengers army but am really stuck what models I should use and how to model them so they look awesome I do not want to use the Ultramarines honour guard because I do not really like the models and is a little bit too expensive for me at the moment. Any advice or ideas will be greatly appreciated. cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233262-chapter-master-and-honour-guard/ Share on other sites
henrywalker
why not the masters of the chapter, they could make quite good conversions and one has a hammer not sure what the best option for a banner bearer is. red_starrise
I used blood angels sang guard torsos & legs for mine to represent artificier armor. aekold
I used dark angel veterans, because of their robes. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233262-chapter-master-and-honour-guard/#findComment-2807810 Share on other sites
Khorne Worny
I will second the DA Veterans. You get 5 guys plus loads of extra bits for like around £6-7 I think. Obviously you have to supply your own bases, banner (I just used one that goes on the back pack) and 1-2 of your own power weapons and pistols unless your giving them bolters. Ive nearly finished mine now looking good. Plus there plastic much better then GW metal HG personally. Olgerth Istaarn
For ornate chests and shoulderpads, nothing beats Sevrin Loth's honor guard. Not cheap, but you can score them on ebay... Arikel
The death company box set comes with great poses, and the best thunder hammer pose in the range in my opinion. You'll need to score a few more power weapons from other sets though. crandall87
It depends on your budget. Personally for the honor guard I would use the ones from the Sevrin Loth Forgeworld set because they are awesome models, however I reckon this would cost more than the Ultramarine ones. The Sanguinary Guard have some awesome parts. Khorne Worny
The DA veterans already come with 2 storm sheilds. One for a marine the other for a terminator (which can still be used for marines really) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233262-chapter-master-and-honour-guard/#findComment-2808712 Share on other sites
