ellis_esquire
Have to say I do think it has the initial WOW factor, but ive gone slowly off it over the first impression. Something a little too Transformers about the legs - I appreciate this is about a purer technology from a bygone era but still.... Still absolutely love the fist though so will be adding 2x £7.50 arms to the collecction of bits soon as they are available again! Captain Semper
In the colored pictures of the Contemptor the one painted as BAs lacks the Aquila whereas the one painted as Astral Claws has it. From the unpainted pictures it appears that the Aquila is sculpted on the body - i.e. it doesn't look like an add-on... Since I'm planning on painting one as a Consercrators piece, implying it is a pre-Heresy relic, I'm very interested if there is a non-Aquila option (or if the Aquila is indeed an add-on) as in the pre-heresy days it was only the Emperor's Children that were allowed to wear it... Not a biggy either way but I just wanted to know why the BA version doesn't carry it. Is it an add-on or did they file it away? Gillyfish
Personally, I rather like it, although, at the moment, it does tend towards the plain when unadorned. I would want to add leather straps like the ones you see in the illustrations and some additional iconography. Lots of potential there, but I would definitely want to convert it. It looks like the old Epic dreadnoughts, so it gets nostalgia points from me. ^_^ Plus, I really like the way you can pose the storm bolter - that is cool!
