Darkest Angel
Alright guys I just recently picked up a Chappy dread from FW; this is my idea, I'm going to use the arm with the fist from the gw ven dread kit and convert a Crosius. This is my question, Im going to use a plasticard tub for the shaft what should i use as the head of the crosius? I figure a full size SM would be to big but anything on the DA upgrade sprew is to small. What do you guys think would be good for the head of the crosius? Tanhausen
I think in the RW sprue you have DA icons for vehicles...just stick 2 back to back and you're good to go ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233382-help-me-with-my-chappy-dread/#findComment-2809344 Share on other sites
Grand Master Neo
agreed. i tried it on a termy chappy but it was far too big but should be just right for a dread Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233382-help-me-with-my-chappy-dread/#findComment-2809834 Share on other sites

Brother Immolator
I would go the vihicle icon way,or you can order the brash DA stuff from fw and use the angels in there. That would be cool. Personaly i find the halberd and the chainfists of the furioso and ironclad to be a little out of place. Brother-Captain Sharp
Alright guys I just recently picked up a Chappy dread from FW; this is my idea, I'm going to use the arm with the fist from the gw ven dread kit and convert a Crosius. I figure a full size SM would be to big but anything on the DA upgrade sprew is to small. What do you guys think would be good for the head of the crosius? As others have said, the DA icons make great super-sized crozius parts. Glue two of the same one back to back, and it looks great. While this is on a Terminator model, it should give you a sense of scale: http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/sesharp/Deathwing%20WIPs/IMG_0838.jpg Give that to a Dreadnought one handed, and it'd fit perfect. Hope that helps. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233382-help-me-with-my-chappy-dread/#findComment-2811163 Share on other sites
Watcher in the Dark
I've always viewed the Dark Angels as having an affinity for certain weaponry, namely swords. IMO mauls, hammers, axes, and maces all seem to be out of character for the chapter, even in the hands of Chaplains. A Crozius done as in B-C Sharp's photo, using DA iconagraphy would work nicely and fit as a chaplain's weapon, but what about going another route and giving him a similarly ornate sword (to substitute for the Crozius, covering WYSIWYG), only on a massive scale? It wouldn't cause problems as far as identifying the model, as I would assume the Chaplain will be black and suitably ornate. I plan on converting my CC dreads to wield large swords as it fits the feel that the DA give me. The Inquisitor range Space Marine (forget his name) had a sword bit that would work well. I've been gone a long time and don't know if those bits are available anymore, but it's an idea too. ellis_esquire
I believe it was in the Camus temple site that the author has done a beautiful fw chaplain deathwing dread. Brother Immolator
Using swords on the chaplains is a bit rare but nothing sais that you cant(after all ruleswise a crozius is a power weapon).Asmodai has a sword alongside his crozius so why not?
