Modelling a Grand Master, need tips!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I'm going to try my hands at modelling a Grand Master for my Grey Knights army. I want him to stand out somehow, but the question is how? Do you guys have any ideas? Any cool icons, iron halos or perhaps wings that you've seen around the internet? I'm going to base the master around a Terminator body, of course. :P

Any tips would be greatful! Perhaps show of your own Grand Master and tell us what bits and pieces you used? ;)

Sincerely,

David "TheReclusiarch"

I wanted something special for my grand master back in the C:DH days, so I used an Archaon on foot model as the base. Makes him considerably larger than the average terminator. Assuming you can stand the face that his armor is a little different. Right now, I am in the work of replacing this models incinerator with a storm shield, making him a perfect Draigo.

When it comes to wings, using Saint Celestines cloak can be a very good choice.

Nice. Any chance you could take a size comparison shot?

OP: Lots and lots of purity seals and parchment is a good start. The command squad has a whole bunch of that, plus a rather nice looking bolter. If you can get two of those, you could probably convert it into an ornate relic storm bolter. If you're any good with a knife, you could try etching names or patterns into the armor.
