Ekim_Trub
I really like the way you have incorparated both the Dark Angels green and the red of the AM into his armour. I may have to "borrow that scheme on a permanent basis". Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233461-madfly-art-space-marine-techmarine/#findComment-2810590 Share on other sites
Drudge Dreadnought
The grey of the weapons and mechanical parts is excellent, but I feel that the green is a bit flat and pastel, and isn't up to the same quality. AridMonk
Excellent NMM, but I agree with Drudge Dreadnought, the green does not "pop" like its should. Also, while I appreciate that you have gone with a dark and dirty feel on the red, it doesn't feel right, like there should be a few more levels of red before you get to your highlight colour, there is too much of a leap from the brown/black to the highlight. This is particularly evident around the face, looks like there is a large amount of dirt there, but it wouldn't accumulate due to him turning his head all the time. Dark Sensei
Very nice work but I share my frater's opinions, this is a little flat indeed, push yor shadows a bit, give little more pigments to your plain areas and lighten your major lines. Too many grey zones on the back-pack swissknife thing and the axe haft could use some color too. A chapter symbol / some inconography should bring something too (fluff is your friend). Undoubtfully you've got talent, don't be too shy to use it. And kindly don't take too bad (so I hope admins won't take it bad too) what I said on the other post but we are IMHO a bit crowded by too many "GD pro-painters ready for commission-guys" on Hall of Honor nowadays. This is not only a Spech Marines (PA & friends) forum but a hobbyist forum too, in the most un-professionnal way. jimmimellows
Well i think it pretty darn good to be fair. Not sure what all this "flat green" rubbish is about. NMM is perfect too. My only criticism is that the base detracts from the model as its so big but its all still brilliant. Been following your stuff on CMON for a long while now and you inspired me to start a Skulltakers warband after i saw your Lord Zhufor model. I look forward to seeing more. Marshall_Brant
It's kool and all. But no offense but if that is pro level NMM, I don't want to see standard. It's alright but I think it could be brighter and with added details like the Flamer fuel gauge the bolter ammo counter, etc. As for the green to me it's not dark or bold enough to be Dark Angels, you could probably pass him off as a Salamander. MadFly-Art
I agree, that's why I don't make NMM on Tavle level. It just woudn't be good enough. Rob_Loken
I like it. I like the muted tones. Perhaps a thin glaze of green to tie the layers on the back pack together. But cool mini all the same. Olis
Very nice, almost desaturated looking paintjob. Kudos. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233461-madfly-art-space-marine-techmarine/#findComment-2811015 Share on other sites
