Ekim_Trub
Hey there guys, having just seen the new Contemptor class Dread from FW, i can now rejoice for i have at last found a Dread i like the look of as i can't stand the unfunctional look of the "normal" Dread, and was instead going to use converted Dreadknights. However, this in itself poses a problem- my Chapter doesn't use any of the old armour or weapon patterns, so any ideas on howi can use this wonderful model from a fluff aspect?? thade
Your boys could've dug it up from a ruin they just liberated from Heretics...one that the Heretics themselves could not open. Just a note: the Contemptor is significantly larger (harder to put into cover) than a vanilla Dread. If you counts-as this thing, you may be sad at how often it gets blown up. Questioner
You don't need to "counts as". The Contemptor has FW rules. And is pretty sweet! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233482-dreadnought-dilemma/#findComment-2810940 Share on other sites
Ekim_Trub
I know that i can use the FW rules for it, or that if need be it could be a "counts as". Its more from a fluff standpoint i'm concerned with- because if it cannot be justified in their fluff, it won't make the cut. One idea i had was that they were gifted several suits upon their Founding (they're 3rd Founding), another was they were found whilst the Chapter was aiding a Magos Explorator of the Ad Mech. Reckon they're feasible? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233482-dreadnought-dilemma/#findComment-2810962 Share on other sites
freaky fryer
I think that the Magos Explorator sounds the best option. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233482-dreadnought-dilemma/#findComment-2810966 Share on other sites
ilnar
I liked it until one of my mates pointed out the waist/stomach bit, Looks too much like the wrong trousers. As for you question, no reason it couldn't be a new mark of dread, Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233482-dreadnought-dilemma/#findComment-2810974 Share on other sites
Ekim_Trub
Yeah, it could be explained as a new design- it does kind of have a mk8 feel to it. Butthe fluff says otherwise, so i'd like to roll with that. ilnar
Meh, aquired from a ruined forge world/space hulk/forge ship Gifted from the adepts mechanics/your founding chapter Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233482-dreadnought-dilemma/#findComment-2810990 Share on other sites
Ekim_Trub
Hmm.....i'll come up with something, at least i know its a feasible idea, and not a stupid one. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233482-dreadnought-dilemma/#findComment-2810997 Share on other sites
Olis
I'd say finding it on a dead and/or hard to reach world would be a good route to explore, fluffwise. Make it's discovery a veritable dungeon-crawl.:) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233482-dreadnought-dilemma/#findComment-2811021 Share on other sites
