Jim Shady
I've just about re-read Fallen Angels and we've all pretty much read Savage Weapons but I wonder at a few points in regard to the Lion. Was he that wary of everyone around him? Why was he so secretive? Why did he think he deserved the title of Warmaster? How far did he know about the corruption of Caliban? Jarl Kjaran Coldheart
(all my opinion) he was wary about everybody around him because he wasnt raised by humans. he raised himself in the wild, on a chaos tainted death world. he never knew friendshipof any form until he was found by luther. until this point, he survived unknown dangers by trusting himself to be the apex predator. he was secretive because of the same above. he never learnt trust. he learned that there is a social jungle, and quickly became the apex predator there as well (on caliban) because he never learned to trust he never learned true comraderly. the sole person he trusted he thought betrayed him in "Descent of Angels". As the apex predator of caliban, the order and then the dark angels, he thought he was the best qualified in commanding the armies of his father. and while the people of caliban knew th eplanet was chaos tainted, i dont believe he knew of the creepy cthulu taint that lay within. Grimdarkness
i agree with the poster above me. As to how much the lion knows about the taint of caliban i think he suspected a great deal however many years alone in the frost with chaos whispering in your head every waking and slumbering moment. going feral was the only way the young lion could have survived imo. Billuriye
Why did he think he deserved the title of Warmaster? Because Dark Angels was the first legion so the honour should have given to him. I think he would be a better candidate too given his loyalty despite being raised on Chaos infested planet alone and being on hit list of Chaos.
