You don't have enough Troops for 3k. Not only not enough bodies, but only two troop units...they die and at best you can only draw (or give him a minor victory)...unless of course you plan to completely wipe him from the table? I'd re-examine your upgrade choices and drop some based on what you feel the role of each model/unit is. Maybe drop one of your ICs or Preds and get a "wolf-tactical squad" in there or something. If it's the case that "this is as many models as you have" I'd recommend going for a 2000 point list instead, so you're not severely outmatched by someone who simply owns more models than you do.

That said, looks like a fun list.

its a friendly game.thanks for the advice.this list is made up of units i want to try and yes im planning on wiping whoever faces me from the board.

not to dissapoint you whelp but this list makes it easy to win for your opponent. you're lacking bodies.

how about including a grey hunter unit instead of lukas? remember lukas' last laugh can really work against you and result in moving a lot of your own models. you're also not fielding a lot of vehicles, this will result in your opponent being able to focus all of his AT firepower on a single tank instead of dividing it over multiple threats. i'd also make bjorn either a normal or a venerable dreadnought, you'll need the points to field more troops.

good luck though greenhorn! make us proud will you ^_^

You're gonna get owned lol.

That Rune Priest is confused for sure. Or do you mean wolf priest!

No.a rune priest.if its because of the Saga i took it cause i figured if i was facing IG or any mass i would be doing alot of assaulting

I wanna try the last laugh.quick question about that.so can i have lukas and 15 BC or is it 14 BC and lukas?

and thanks

Less high priced special charactors too. But way more bodies which count as troops.

took Logan cause i seen people was having good luck with him

Bjorn causee i wanna try him out and his stats look pretty good

lukas cause of the last laugh ^_^

Njal cause i can use all powers

The man isnt asking for advice, he is asking for well wishs!

Good Luck!

Thanks but the advice is good to as i will hopefully start playing more.

Unfortunately the host had to cancel because he was called back to work :P

I hate to harp on the same point...but you won't see a lot of assaulting. You don't have enough bodies. If you assault IG, you will get swarmed with IG infantry men, and they will consume you with their panicked flailing and shrieks of terror being pressed into melee against your space marines. Your marines will be overwhelmed and pulled down by sheer mass and it will suck for you pretty badly.

Get more marines. Wolf Guard! Two units! Do it! :)

ofcourseall those units are fine units arez, but you're making a typical bloodclaw mistake by not looking further then your chainsword...

your army doesn't form a solid pack on it's own. sure you've got the alpha males(plenty of hard hitting hq's. but what about the backbone of the pack, the wolves who make the pack big enough to keep on continuing the hunt?(grey hunters). the most important thing in an armylist is to find the combination of units that works together as a well seasoned pack of wolves to bring down it's prey, instead of judging every wolf (unit) purely on it's own.

k can you make a max 3000 army list so i can see?PM is ok to :)

i cant do swarms as im 97% of the units im using are my dads.i think he has mostly Grey Hunter equivalents. The cool think about that is most of them are from the rogue trader era ;)

i guess it was a good thing that it was canceled so i can be taught

if anyone has army list suggestion pm and i'll look and learn

nothing wrong with grey hunters!

it is if they are painted as white scars, ultrasmurfs and vampires(blood angels) and i think a few other.my dad has tons of marines painted in different chapters LOL.joking joking :)

but ya.i just wanted to try different troops.but i guess i should focus on only 1 or 2 at a time eh?

:D i just thought of doing a 2000 point army of grey hunters only and a few rhinos....OOOoooo.

Dusts off wolf dex.

It's like 180 for a full GH pack of 10 with a melta and a PF; take three or four of them to start.

Grimnar and Njal are a popular pairing as HQs (I seem to see them together a lot around here) so no reason not to take them both.

One Land Raider at 3000 will die very quickly; consider taking two (and putting GH in at least one of them).

Trouble with taking two of course is that it limits what you should be spamming: Long Fangs. Take 2-3 units of them with MLs if you can fit them.

Fill your elite slots with dreads. You might like Riflemen, but if you've got 2+ units of LFs with MLs, you can take Assault Cannon dreads instead.

From there I'd either take even more Troop options (remember that Wolf Guard count as Troop choices with Logan, so you can fill out with those and Grey Hunters) or even some Land Speeder squadrons (Typhoooon!). Alternatively, get yourself some Thunderwolf Cav for a fun change. :D

Mount each GH squad in Rhinos! I wonder if I forgot anything else...

In addition to Thade's advice:

Take at least three, maybe four Troop choices. They don't all have to be full strength but it's a good idea. Also, don't forget you get a free second special weapon on your packs.

Maximise on the fact that Wolf Guard are Troops if you take the Old Wolf. Stick them in Land Raiders for a big charge unit.

thats what i was going to do with the bloodclaws in my first post.

what Land Raider? you people have to specify the variants :D

EDIT:no go on the 2nd land Raider.

This is entirely down to preference and playstyle; I magnetized my sponsons so I can swap game-to-game.

LR Crusaders (with Hurricane Bolters) are gun boats; they have fire power and durability equivalent to a Tactical Squad, roughly, but it can fire on the move and also carry a squad. Since the sponsons are S4 they count as defensive weapons, so you can move 6" and fire them for free, fire one weapon of choice, and then fire any other weapon with PotMS...all of its guns. I sometimes throw a storm bolter on it, just to be silly. SO MANY GUNS.

LR Redeemers (with Flamestorm Cannons) are nice against Space Marines, Necrons...anything with a lot of 3+ saves. Not to mention that Assault Cannons are awesome, and this one is twin-linked. Assault Cannons put the hurt on squads and are decent against light armor. In a pinch it has a chance of tearing into a Land Raider.

LR Godhammer (with the Lascannons) are great for back field camping and support. TL-Lascannons can take pot shots at light or heavy armor safely at range, and the Heavy Bolter is nice when enemy infantry closes in on your deployment zone. Not to say that you can't advance these things; you certainly can. But it's the only LR with 48" range on it. :)

I tend to prefer the Redeemer, not only because it has really big flamethrowers on it, but also because it has the perfect balance between firepower and transport capacity, and, with the addition of a multi-melta is quite versatile. Stick Logan and some Wolf Guard in it and watch as your opponent suffers a mental breakdown and cries in the corner. Plus you can magnetise the kit and get two variants for the price of one.

Aye but this is my dads Raider and it is from before he started magnetizing.i list what i have in my company thread.if i mention it here and iots not in the thread that mean its my dads and most of his stuff out and done is rogue trader-3rd edition(i think)

Just have fun with the list raising hell all over. The other weekend I ran the following in a 3vs3 game;

Thunderlord: ss/th, runic armor, SoB, WTN

Thunderlord: wc/wc, runic armor, SoWB, WTN

GH x6, las/plas

GH x6, las/plas

Fenrisian Wolves x8

Just let them run amok like lunatics till they died. Both fulfilled their sagas quite nicely.
