Warhound Scout Titan

Recommended Posts

Ok, so as I've said before, have a 4k apoc game on the 30th. I'm building a warhound & a caestus assault ram for the game. The caestus will carry my assault termies. Here's some pics of the warhound in progress.

I still have alot of work to do. I'm waiting on a vulcan mega bolter storm lord turret bits from ebay to do the right arm w/. Left arm is going to be a double barrel turbo laser. AFAIK there's only going to be a super heavy tank & maybe a reaver titan used but I could be wrong.

Hmm, that looks suspiciously like the paper-hammer Titan I threw out last week.....

It's the same set of plans I believe. Here's some pics of the head, hull & legs assembled & primed. Just waiting on bits for the arms.

The hull, legs & head are pretty much done, arms will be started shortly.

Thanks guys.

Mikael, I'd say it's taken probably about 40 hrs of work to get to this point.

Kovash, due to the fact that I have no idea what to expect at my shop for Apoc I'm probably going to give it a double barrel turbo laser destructor (also due to it being pretty easy to scratchbuild) & a vulcan mega bolter (also due to having easy access to a storm lord mega bolter lol).

It's good but the surfaces look a bit flat. Some detail using card could have broken up the big flat areas a bit...

The only places where there aren't seperate armor plates of some fashion are the rear shoulder/vent things, knee sections & the toes. Other than that, the shoulders themselves have 3 separate armor plates each & predator sponsons as well as hatches behind the head. The thighs & ankles have segmented armor plates but the knee sections lack detail I agree.

Good job mate, it's a good build, is it the same dimensions as a FW one?

It's pretty close I think. Mind you I don't have a FW warhound to compare it to, but on FW's site they say a Lucius pattern (the one this mimics) is about 10.5" tall & this guy's right around there as well, so I think we're in that neighborhood.

Good effort mate, I don't really like the cardboardy look of it though..

Still think it's pretty awesome you actually managed to get it to look so close to an actual warhound.

Good job!

May I suggest that you darken the windows a bit, like Octavulg said, they seem a little off.

Also a pot or two of 'instant talent', I mean Devlan Mud, should do wonders toning down the slighly cartoony look, especially on the blue.

Lovely flames though, be careful so you don't cover them with wash, if you're going that route. Keep it up!
