chapter dice

so if we were to join in and order set of dice, how many would you want to order? I can make the order, get them to my place and then ship them out to everyone. the only buy is for the dice. I am not trying to make a profit, just cut down on cost for everyone. that way we can all have some kick ass dice. as LR said we cannot use IP so it would have to be something generic or home spun. Would order from chessex so that everyone can see the pricing. you would cover shipping to you, if there is anything over that needed I would eat it if its not to much (like 5 USD).

i think this is something that we can do easily and have something unique for tournies or just casual games.

I like this idea a lot. I need new dice...dont we all :P

You can get creative with wolf art and not break any rules. There is tons out there in google land, just waiting to be pulled into Illustrator...

I have some Raven ones for my Raven Guard, they dont help me win but they look cool when I loose.

qft. fan art is not copy right protected. we can google search something and then band together to order a metric :) ton of dice.

Ok, sounds good. I have similar stuff to the one I created for my sig below, the white wolf. We can sort it via 380 PM.

I would have all my dice with the wolfhead on the 6, except one. One die would have the mechanical wolfhead on the 1, just to be used for Rhino repair rolls!

And a bloody wolfhead for the 6 on my Mark of Wulfen to wound rolls.......hahahahaha!

that sounds awsome:D

I just bought three bricks of new smokey grey and black dice with yellow pips (reminded me of wolf eyes). Those are for regular ccw and shooting hits. I then have a really weird set of greenish yellow ones that I got as a swag bag at a Battlefoam tournament which are amazing for MoW hits and rending, they have the Battlefoam logo as the 6. In September I will be in my LFGS anniversary/GT and will get a set of orange ones which will then be for plasma, melta, and power fists/weapons in the squads.

Otherwise I would be all over a ton of custom dice. Hahahahahahhaha!

we got the go ahead so those who are interested and SERIOUSLY want to participate in this I will start getting what colors we can use from chessex. and i will post what i feel are some of the best NON GAMES WORKSHOP IMAGES on the first post sometime today. Toaster is not feeling very well right now so I am waiting on going to the wolf priest later today.

I'm very interested in this. I know my favorite color for dice has one of the waekest names in the chessex catalog: Strawberry: green pips on a red base with black flecks. I'd love an entire cube of 36 if they had the wolf on the six. (Maybe even a frowny face on the one, cuz ones are rarly ever good. But thats is almost too much.)

i will email chessex now to find out what colors are available. but we cannot do THE wolf head. we can use A wolf head.

For anyone that finds it helpful, here's some custom Space Wolf dice I got on 16mm Gemini blue-steel with red wolf head on 6s.

Chessex was a bit slow in responding to my emails but had no problems placing my custom order.

EDIT: The wolf head is an actual engraved pip, not painted on a blank side. I like them but keep in mind 16mm is the smallest they do for custom images so you won't be rolling a lot (You can hold 10 16mm dice comfortably in the palm of one hand)

EDIT2: Here's a better resolution picture of the wolf pip

The symbol looks spot on Rain Finale :D

Chessex will have these logos in their 'library'. All you have to do is link to the image and it's all hunky-dory.

Why get Wolf dice if the image isn't THE image that all gamers would recognise?

Its like getting Nike dice, but with ticks instead of swooshes, why would you if it wasn't the real McCoy?

I think you can also get a variety of dice and pip colour combinations. I think Darkseer's Black on Grey is too close to one another. You want high contrast. That is why those speckled dice, which often have speckling over the dice and the pips, are not great for game play - you want a clean and crisp image, not something that is in effect a camouflage pattern ;)

If you want them for fancy, go fancy, but if you want them to use in a game, swirls, speckles and other weird and wonderful patterns are not helpful.

speckles and swirls are fine so long as there is enough contrast between the die and the pip colors such as the ones I linked. But yes, I know what you mean. There are chessex dice that look cool but are difficult to read.

its about not breaking the rules. if you want to do it on your own thats fine. but if you want to participate in this and get a cheaper price then we will not use any GW image altered or not.

What ever image you want to use if fine with me AS LONG AS IT IS NOT A COPYRIGHTED IMAGE. so if you have your own "doodle" of mJollnir I'm groovy.

Heard back from cheesed today they have more than just the 15 colors now that can replace the 1 or the 6 I am asking for a list of the colors. More info to come.

NO GW IP IMAGES PLEASE

I looked at the designs on the first post. I really like the second one but I don't think it will scale down very well with all the detail. The Third one does however look like it will look great on dice.

BTW what size are we talking about. I guess I just assumed we are getting the small ones (36 in a brick) I don't know the measure=ment off hand but personnally thats the size I like to use.

G

Sadly no, these are the 16mm (large) dice. So in a large hand you can fit safely about 12. I know main mine I can mitt about that. You are free to order what you want in any NON GW IP DESIGN only limit is min 10. Myself, I am a dice :cuss so I am getting 20 and my gf will probably get the same lol.

If you cab get a wolf skull of make a design that is far different than any GW ip design let me know, place it up here and if it's fly you can use it. If I don't hear back from chessex today about the colors I will call them tomorrow on one of my breaks.

This is a vector file and i'm sure i can alter it a bit to be more like GW but less like the oil

O and this is Game of thrones, but it wont look good on a dice i think
