now, not all of this has been painted yet, let alone assembled (I usualy paint, then assemble) but I'm already hungering for more. What would you suggest?

What to get next? Some painting and assembly done :) . Getting more stuff before completing the majority of this be the route to madness...

...But if you must get more, I would think the observation above about troops and swiftclaws is pretty sound. Predator maybe?

Oh, and if I haven't made myself clear... FINISH SOME MORE STUFF FIRST!

overvieuw of what has been painted

Prospero burns… Magnus the Red and his Thousand Sons have been defeated, diminished, and scattered in the winds. The treachery of he who was called the Emperor’s favourite son, the vile traitor Horus, the Warmaster, has been revealed… But who turned him from the path? Who is to blame for the problems we see now? Who must be sought out and punished in ways that would make even the All-Father blush?

That was the question Russ asked his lords upon their return to the Fang, and that is the question Lord Stormblood rashly promised to give an answer to… or die trying. Within days his company was ready for departure. As he prepared to enter his cruiser, Leman came to him with a gift: 5 each, Wolf Priests, Rune Priests and Iron Priests had volunteered to accompany him on his quest, as well as 7 full companies of Aettguard. For 9 years regular updates of their efforts were sent to the Fang, until the short and simple message came, the last message to be heard in over a thousand years:

“We’ve found the one, hidden in the Eye… expect us home in a week, and ready the mead”

6 Cruisers were lost that day… and several thousands of souls. As the centuries passed, the boastfull Lord Stormblood and his fabled company were forgotten by all. Only within the ranks of runepriests was their tale remembered and shared with future generations. Until last year… an encrypted message was relayed to the Fang. It held a short, and confusing message in an old, archaic form of Fenrisian battle language:

“Be'Lakor is dead. We bring his head as promised. ETA 4 days.”

At the same time, 4 ancient-looking cruisers appeared near Fenrisian space, and started sending out identificationcodes. These triggered alarms immediately warning the assembled Rune Priests and the Great Wolf, Logan Grimnar; who was brought up to speed concerning the lore and sagas attached to these ships. Lord Stormblood had returned from his hunt into the Eye of Terror

Debriefing one:

The first stop in our hunt was Davin... the world where Horus was healed by locals. Cultist locals.

Naturally, when we got there, they had all long fled, but we managed to track down several of them to neighbouring worlds. Most died before they would give up their lord, but we managed to keep them alive long enough to be led to the next.

As our hunt continued and the years passed, the surviving members of the coven became less and less ... approachable. We managed however. It wasn't until we found their ringleader, temporarily under Erebus's protection; that is, until he saw our fleet arriving; that we managed to pull a name out of those lying rats. Be'Lakor... an ancient being, apparently a daemon prince, who had been ordered by the ruinous powers to corrupt the strongest of mankind.

Apparently, this daemon favoured working with middlemen and fools, rather than mingling directly, and had been responsible for the corruption of several other prominent figures.

Once we had a name, the hunt intensified. Rumours about "ancient surviving religions" worshipping "Be'Lakor" drew us from one corner of the galaxy to the next... we even revisited Prospero during these years, and it is there we found what we needed... Be'Lakor's home world existed still, within the Eye of Terror; and he ruled it still. We immediately set course to the world Malal I... that is when you received our last transmission

Debriefing 2:

upon arriving in orbit around the planet, we had all those capable scanning the planet for daemonic aswell as carbonbased life. Not a single trace of wyrd was detected, and I feared the worst. I had been so certain that that vile beast was there... I ordered my scouts down there, to bring back additional intelligence about the occupants of the planet. Armed with this knowledge, several compagnies of Aettguard were sent down to infiltrate the population, and uncover the truth. Just as we were about to launch the landingships, Ordun Rednose, the oldest and wisest of our Rune Priests screamed out in pain. With his dying breath, he warned us f the wyrd pulling the planet out of this existence. Knowing that, if we did not act immediatly, we would lose our prize yet again, I gave the order to make emergency landings asap. All around us, hell broke loose. The planet had 4 moons, they all exploded in showers of wicked winged daemons. a Glimmer passed over the surface of the planet, turning it from a lush verdant paradise to a ball of fiery seas and deserts.

I know not how this truth had been hidden from us all this time, but the wytchcraft of this foe was... discomforting. As we sped towards the ground in fear of losing the scent of out foe, the daemons that had just seconds before been moons around the planet attacked our rearmost cruisers, covering them in their bodies. I can still hear the screams over the voxchannels as they forced their way through shieldings, hulls and men alike. the manifesto of the dead, and their deaths has been handed to the priesthood.

upon landing, we stormed out and cleared a beachhead as fast as we could. By Russ and the All-Father, it was hideous. Men, women and children ran full-pelt towards us, their skins blistering and cracking as the daemons used their flesh and blood as portals into the world. Soon, the sky had turned purple and red, then blue, golden and vile green/brown, and we were beset from all sides. In those first 4 hours, nearly 80% of the Aettguard had been killed, and quite a few of our blood claw packs had been decimated to a mere handfull. Many had given themselves to the Wulfen, and while shamefull, it was that that saved the campaign as a whole. Their ferocity halted the tide, and allowed us all the time to dig in.
