wilks
Hi does anyone know a good way to weather silver armour on space marines? I have tried doing a darker wash of black and brown with ligter silver specs but it just dont look that good. I was just hoping if anyone had any good examples or techniques i could use. Beachymike123
Brother Wilks, your best bet is to start with a black base, build up with Boltgun Metal, then Mithril Silver and then Chainmail. With the Chainmail level, if you want chip effects, mix a little Mithril Silver with a tiny (and I mean tiny) amount of Chaos Black or Codex Grey and put it where you want the chips/scratches/weathered areas. Add more black depending on how weathered you want it. If you're doing a weathered area, add a tiny (again tiny) amount of brown for the edges. The reason you want to mix MS and not CM is because the effect is to take it down to the previous layer (if that makes sense) due to dinks etc, the CM being the highlight layer that makes it look 'untarnished' if you know what I mean. After a while, you will get to know what looks best and take it from there. Good luck and hope your project turns out good for you.
