Magnor
alright, after seeing some of the amazing work on here I decided that although my skills are not at the levels of others, I like what I have. I can learn from others and these photos show where I am at in my skill. These squads are completed except for wulfen models (trying to come up with something cool) and an arming mistake or two....So here we go. Squad 1 and 2 Wolf Helms (Squad 1) Yes I know about the Meltagun and Plasma guns. I missed this during the building process. I will be correcting it with another model or two Beakies (Squad 2) Powerfist Wolf Squad Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233722-images-of-my-army/ Share on other sites

Wulfebane
I think the armour's very well blended. At first I thought it was drybrushed, but the blending was too smooth and not at all grainy. Very nice. If I had one critique, it'd be that your pelts and teeth look a bit paint-caked. You can lessen that effect with a bit of wash. Take your pick on which one. My choices would be Ogryn Flesh and/or Gryphonne Sepia, but depending on what color pelt you want, you could also go with Devlan Mud or Badab Black. Also, you have a very good attention to detail, so why are you leaving the chest jewels so dark? Magnor
HMMM, well for one the pelts were done with my first attempt at a wash. I used the technique that was posted on the space wolf blog web site. I think the caked look comes from the fact that well..... there are a few layers of paint that are on the pelts. My fault really. As for the chest jewels...... no real answer. Thanks for the comments so far though. I appreciate them. Grimtooth
Google for the tutorial on lens or jewels for 40k painting. Way, way easy to end up with a little bling on the chest and belts gems. Also, the abdominal piping on the power armor will help break up the dark armor just enough. Like I said though, the models are very cleanly painted and the above reccomendations are just very little suggestions. Toasterfree
you may want to try and use a different background. it is a little difficult to see some of these Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233722-images-of-my-army/#findComment-2814397 Share on other sites
Forté
How did you do your armour? Looks pretty good. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233722-images-of-my-army/#findComment-2814435 Share on other sites
Magnor
Background- I figured a white background and table would be best for the pictures. I will have to look around and see what works best. Pretty sure I saw a thread on it somewhere.... As for the painting, I have a shadow gray base color which I then used a black wash on. After that I did some touch up with the shadow gray on the armor again. I see lots of people using different mixes to lighten the colors, but I have not been successful with it yet. As they look now is a vast improvement to what I used to field... Anyways, the interesting part was covering the splash over where I wanted the pelt's. Going to test using different colors for the base color of the fur. using what I have now looks good, but then you might get the idea that all the wolves on Fenris were the same color...... Thank you for the input and kind remarks on my work so far.
