Merikz
Been away from the hobby a long time. Got 2 weeks of free time so I thought I'd work on some Black Templar models. Im a n00b at greenstuff btw. http://i941.photobucket.com/albums/ad251/whiskeyz87/Black%20Templar/IMG_5265.jpg http://i941.photobucket.com/albums/ad251/whiskeyz87/Black%20Templar/IMG_5267.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233733-bt-skunkworks/ Share on other sites
ephrael
Looks pretty good to me so far. The shoulder pad will cover most of the green stuff anyway. Keep trying more conversions, it is highly addictive. Merikz
Already am. Have the whole Sternguard squad to work on plus some standard Marines that ultimatly I want to look like the Codex cover. Or close to it. Now this guy, well I haven't exactly decided on what head to go with but Im thinking it still might be this one. And Im leaning towards going with a chainsword/ botl pistol combo instead of the provided rifle. http://i941.photobucket.com/albums/ad251/whiskeyz87/Black%20Templar/IMG_5269.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233733-bt-skunkworks/#findComment-2814033 Share on other sites
Astrum Vinco
The sword and pistol combo would go together nicely. The right arm straight and firing, while the left is bringing the sword up. ephrael
I love the maximini helmets. I have a set myself but I'm waiting for the right inspiration to use them. The helm certainly gives the model a knightly feel. I have always associated the Black Templars with knighthood anyway, this just reinforces it for me. I definitely think you should go with the sword/pistol arms, perhaps a combat shield too? That would really tie in with the knightly image. Merikz
The sword and pistol combo would go together nicely. The right arm straight and firing, while the left is bringing the sword up. Possibly. I had looked at doing it the other way around with the sword on the right and pistol on the left. I just dont want this guy to look, well blah, with him looking like hes just standing there with something in his hands ya know? ephrael
What about having the pistol arm pointed down casually with the sword either pointing forward in a challenge or held at an upwards angle across the torso? Kind of a stalking the battlefield for more enemies sort of look. Merikz
Yeah so I have not purchased any primer (Not paying $25 for primer from the only GW store in the country!) so I am not painting yet. In the meantime I'm just hacking away at more Templars. http://i941.photobucket.com/albums/ad251/whiskeyz87/Black%20Templar/IMG_5273.jpg http://i941.photobucket.com/albums/ad251/whiskeyz87/Black%20Templar/IMG_5274.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233733-bt-skunkworks/#findComment-2814117 Share on other sites

In the meantime I'm just hacking away at more Templars. Yeah about that primer..... :( I never EVER use GW primer, ever. find another Hobby Store if possible and check out the Army Painter line. AP makes incredible primer, in an impressive variety of colors. They even have a metallic primer thats made to paint over unlike metal spray paint Great work on the Templars BTW. I love the shoulder shield on the greave......STOLEN! :whistling: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233733-bt-skunkworks/#findComment-2814224 Share on other sites
Merikz
The Army Painter you say? Hmm I'll have to look into that. Problem is that I would have to order it as there is only 1, I say again 1, miniature hobby store where in Korea where I live. There are plenty of other model stores but I have only been to two of them as they are scarce. And I still did not feel like paying 9 bucks for a small can of spray paint. Serraphim
I use Krylon Matt White for my Primer. Really easy to get in the States as it's in every Wallmart, but any home improvement store should have it, and they're less than $5.00 a can here.
