wolf363839
Here's my latest Thunderwolf conversion. Anybody have any recommendations for the eyes? I want to improve my technique. http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae39/phil363839/Space%20Wolf%20Army/DSCF2537.jpg http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae39/phil363839/Space%20Wolf%20Army/DSCF2538.jpg http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae39/phil363839/Space%20Wolf%20Army/DSCF2539.jpg http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae39/phil363839/Space%20Wolf%20Army/DSCF2540.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233745-thunderwolf-conversion-complete/ Share on other sites

Token
Good painting, clean, looks good. The model looks very.. armored, which it should. Black works for the shield.. I will probably steal that for my termies with shields. Edit: Wanna show the cloak/pelt? hendrik
looking good! but how about making the thunderwolf his eyes yellow, more wolf like like this instead of just a red dot? since you've got the skills to paint eyes like that you're definetly able to pull it off! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3270/2911025682_bf92c0267c.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233745-thunderwolf-conversion-complete/#findComment-2814257 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Its very well made, very well painted, and I dont like it because its a juggernaut. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233745-thunderwolf-conversion-complete/#findComment-2814437 Share on other sites
TiguriusX
I love the rider but the juggernaut head reminds me of a bat more than a wolf. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233745-thunderwolf-conversion-complete/#findComment-2814444 Share on other sites
MeatGrinder
Its awesome, awesome conversion, awesome paintjob. Personally I'd add more wolf pelts and in general more wolfy stuff. Also, what is the thought behind the horns? Myxx
Excellent paint job! But it does scream thunder-bull rather than thunder-wolf... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233745-thunderwolf-conversion-complete/#findComment-2815274 Share on other sites

Grimtooth
I am just not a fan of using that model as TWC. You did great on it, just not my thing at all. Olgerth Istaarn
The ears look a bit "disconnected", but otherwise... juggernauts rock as usual :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233745-thunderwolf-conversion-complete/#findComment-2816120 Share on other sites
RipherChost
Looks pretty cool! I am about to undertake the same task of converting some juggernauts. Could you tell us what you did to cover all the icons? Obviously shaving chaosy stuff off is in order but I noticed that the chaos markings are engraved into the model , is green stuff recomended? Lord_Azoth
love your conversion, I´d do the eyes in a glowing red, this way but in a red color: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=117358 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233745-thunderwolf-conversion-complete/#findComment-2817493 Share on other sites

Green stuff can be a problem because you cannot sand it. Sandable putty of any kind, however, works wonders. Slather it on, wait for it to dry, then sand off the excess with an fine emery board. After priming and painting, you can't even tell that the engraved icon was ever there. However, the putty shrinks a bit as it dries, so you may to repeat the process 2-3 times for deeper icons. wolf363839
Thanks for the feedback. I know juggers are not everyone's favorite TWC, but I just prefer the metal beasts that have a hair more realism than giant wolves. I haven't built a plastic jugger with the recessed chaos symbols yet, but my plan was to use green stuff and smooth it out with a bit of water before it dries, then shave it with the edge of a blade like you would do the mold lines. I don't have steady hands at all (I brace both hands to get the detail), so if anyone has a technique for eyes that can be done with a good brush let me know. Finishing up a typhoon speeder now....then the army should be complete...again.
