Frosthamn Posted July 10, 2011 Share Posted July 10, 2011 Hey This is my first painting blog ever but hey, there's a first for everything right? :) I apologise if there is any spelling mistakes, english is not my first language. I have been painting and playing for a while now and have been collecting loyalists until now. But now I have fallen into the beauty that is Chaos and Khorne. The army I will post here is a Renegade Chapter of my own making called Bloodmist Raiders. I will in addition to images and progress updates try to write up some fluff texts which might, if they're any good, be posted here. The pictures are taken by my GF as I am not very skilled at it. This is the first time I've ever done anything more major with Green stuff other than filling gaps and such so I am at least satisfied with the result. Im currently undecided on how i will base them. I want to make city bases but im afraid they will blend in to much if they are grey. Maybe a desert city? Sort of Brownish? Im also debating if I should make the squad a ten man plus a rhino or make them 15+ foot sloggers. Never played chaos so I have no idea whats good or not. What do you guys think? On the second the weapons don't blend with the model, they look just stuck on, the opposite of which is the reason the first looks so awesome. I going to stop painting and playing computergames at the same times :P I will also add some battle damage and trophys as no khorne warband is complete without it. But first i must find a good tutorial on battledamage :huh: kizzdougs: Thanks, Yea I thought the psilenser could be a great "I can shoot about every weapon known too Space Marines from this thing" MeatGrinder: You have given me something to think about. I didnt notice it before but youre right. the lascanon looks welded on using a daemon, This must be changed. I will also remove the flamer on his left hand and go by the less is more principle. I have added some deamony parts for obliterator nr 2 aswell as removed his flamer. I have also added some trophies for squad Varinius and Varinius himself has a new head as seen below. I have some FW-goodness on the way but they are still a while away, ordered them today. First of all I will apply some finishing touches to the marines already painted. I'm not quite happy with them. If anyone have an idea of what could make them better I'm happy to here them. I've decided to give Varinius and his squad a Rhino, because painting tanks are fun! It would only be fitting for him to have a huge piece of roarin adamantium death. malika666: Well they are to some extent inspired by them. I was thinking about makin some chaos wolves but decided against it. The Bloodmist Raiders are very alike in their combat doctrine, as the are also scavangers and so on. But i decided against having any wolfy theme even though the colour grey stayed. Speaking of the colour, it is something I'm not really happy with. I like grey and i want them to be grey but the still look well strange to me. Dont know why. Maybe they are too bright or something?
