Midge913 Posted July 12, 2011 Share Posted July 12, 2011 I have never been one who has bought into the NMM thing so I have spent a long time trying to get my metallics down pat. To that end I have started working on Dante, Lord of the Blood Angels. I plan on doing him in the official GW scheme as a nice show piece, and then later on down the line I am going to convert another Dante to use in my BA Successor chapters version of the Sang Guard. There is an unarmoured miniature of him (not official, but has been in codexes) http://www.sodemons.com/gwmuseum/horus/04100327.JPG the only red armoured sagnuinius I know of, is a fan art, that while awesome, has no resemblance with the fluff depictions of sanguinius. anyway Dante is looking mighty fine there you've got a nice base for the gold with plenty of shading, how light are you planning to take it? Looking forward to seeing updates brother! Thanks for the compliments mate and for the bit of photo research! I plan on doing another layer of shining gold highlights, and then very minimal stark highlighting in burnished. I have stepped away from my Blood Angel Successors recently as I have been busy with commission pieces, Nids, and Dwarfs for a Painting Challenge. Thanks man! Appreciate the kind words. I got quite a bit of detail work done on Dante tonight.
