RebG
Gentlemen, Despite being into 40k for many, many years I've never put a Terminator on the table for a game. The new GK models are a little to nice to resist though so I'm working my way through putting together 10 TDAGK. My original plan was to arm them as follows: 2 Psycannon/Halberd, 2 Hammer and 6 Halberd. Having considered things a little more this last couple of days I'm pretty sure I'd be better off mixing in a few swords for an occasional boosted save here or there. I don't really have the points to play with falchions or staves but anyone with some good tips as to what mix works well and why would be appreciated. Cheers guys  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233953-gk-terminator-weapon-options/ Share on other sites
breng77
I tend to go with 2-3 swords, 1-2 Hammers, and the rest Halberds. I would also look to put one of your psycannons on a hammer, that way they are separate wound groups, that way you don't lose both to the same roll. RebG
Thanks for the splitting the options between the 'cannons tip. 2-3 was about what I was considering for the swords but I'm going to stick with two hammers so I can combat squad and still have the heavier c'c oomph. Think I was a little over-excited with the I+2 (having suffered against it a bit recently with my Blood Angels) so thinning it out with the swords is probably wise - also helps with the previously mentioned wound groups. cheers for the help dude. T3mpl@r Crusade
I like this layout: justicar with MC hammer hammer sword sword psycannon with halberd psycannon with halberd 4*halberd in a 10 man it gives you 5 wound allocation options. the swords are there to absorb any power fists a bit better than the halberds. for combat squading, split the groups up evenly so each one gets a hammer (one on justicar), a sword, a psycannon with halberd, and 2 halberds. still give you 4 wound allocation options. If you have many librarians kicking around, casting quicksilver will nullify the benefit of halberds, therefor arming all with swords would be awesome for durability in CC, but depends on your list. I personally wouldnt count on the libby since a miscast could jeapordize your whole combat if you were counting on ini 10 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233953-gk-terminator-weapon-options/#findComment-2816990 Share on other sites
nurglez
Halberds have their place, as quick silver is only on your turn, not the enemies... I say 2-3 swords, 2 hammers and 5-6 halberds, you don't have the ability to soak wounds like my pallies so you will want to kill the enemy before they can strike you. number6
I've been going 4 halberds and 1 hammer, as most of the time you want more Init 6 attacks than you need S8 attacks. But your mileage may vary, of course. :) There's a lot to be said for taking more hammers, for certain. nurglez
considering we get 1 hammer model in a box of 5 terminators, I consider that a decent ratio :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233953-gk-terminator-weapon-options/#findComment-2817517 Share on other sites
