Of course there is Ragnar Blackmane, but who are the Wolf Priest(s), Rune Priest(s), Iron Priest, and Wolf Guard? Currently without my editions of the first two omnibus'. So anybody got any ideas? Also how many Dreadnaughts are typically assigned to each Great Company? These are all drawn from the Great Wolf's company as needed, so there won't be any 'standard' complement. I haven't read any of the omnibus though, so I'm afraid I can't help you regarding the names of the priests etc.. that are mentioned, if that's what you're after. Sven Dragonfire Posted July 13, 2011 Share Posted July 13, 2011 There is a Wolf Priest that is mentioned in the Ragnar novels by the name of Sigurd, he is described as being attached to Ragnars company and serves with them for some time. Also there is mention of some of Ragnars wolf guard. Leif and Einar were described as leading Grey hunter packs, and Petar was leading a pack of scouts. There is also mention of an Iron Priest by the name of Jurgan being attached to Ragnars company. Also a wolf guard called Hogun who succumbed to the wulfen curse and slaughtered the pack he was leading, however Ragnar pulled him back from the brink of oblivion and now Hogun still serves with Ragnar. Nice oppurtunity to use "mark of the Wolfen". Cant remember any Rune priests serving alongside Ragnar when he is a Wolf Lord, but there is mention of a Rune priest called Aldrek, who was serving the great wolf at the time. I will try to skim read my Ragnar novels over the next day or so and see what other info I can post if it helps. Yeah there was a White Dwarf short story where Ragnar dropped onto a planet that was infested with Tyranids with his company, ( in the days when a Gaunt was known as a hunter slayer), he was accompanied by both Ulrik and Njal. It also mentioned a grizzled old sargeant called Hakon who died during the course of the story. There were other members of his company that were described - Wolf Guard Egil and Gunnar (who used a Missile launcher) -" Lukkan, the impetuous sergaent of blood claw squad Blade"( who were equipped with Jump packs). Brother Jann the Iron Priest, Long Fang Hrothgar, Karl "youngest of the Blood claws". Some of the early White Dwarf Blurb contradicts the novels but still usable I guess. Lexicanum says Wolf Guard Egil went through basic training with Ragnar, so I'd guess Egil was changed to Sven or Strybjorn in the books. Following his induction, he has gained something of a cult following amongst the Blood Claws after "accidentally" locking an Inquisitorial genotax delegation in a grox breeding pen while the creatures were in season, and risking death when he spiked the arrogant Wolf Lord Hrothgar's ale with the concentrated venom of a bloat-toad. So might I infere that Hrothgar is the company that Lukas is a member of? Also I included the part about the womanfolk to lay that arguement to rest here. It was before he was a Space Wolf. I like the LRC for Blood Claws and LR: Godhammer for Grey Hunters, then I pair up Razorbacks with Long Fangs to boot.
