Witty
He all, apparently Kill Team came out (thought it wasn't out until the end of the month), so of course I downloaded it. It's a fairly solid little two-stick shooter, not the best but I don't feel like I was just scammed out of 10 bucks. I've played two levels so far tonight, one as the Librarian and one as the Sternguard Vet (which is apparently THQ-speak for Devestator), and enjoyed them both. Felt like the Librarian was better off for solo play since he's more melee-centric and his special power is much more of a crowd-clearer. The Sternguard's special is to just shoot his weapon really, really, really fast for a few seconds. TL;DR - Buy the game if you like it when the Emperor's Angels cleanse a small part of the galaxy with lots and lots of bullets and sword-related tomfoolery Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234081-space-marine-kill-team/ Share on other sites
eadipus
Weirdly played Librarian/Sternguard last night as well, having real trouble with the end of the second level for some reason. The Sternguard w/triple shot Plasma Cannon using his power is amazing and looks particularly cool when it drops in to the over the shoulder camera Haven't tried the co-op yet, I think its really going to make the game Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234081-space-marine-kill-team/#findComment-2818450 Share on other sites

Garou24
I played this last night also. Really enjoying it and its a tough game. I died a few times solo. Even my girlfriend joined me and we cleared a couple levels together. It was easy enough for ehr to pick up and do well with. For $10 its a real fun game to play co-op with friends. I played all the classes a little bit and even played the Last Stand type game where you fight waves of orks. So far no bugs. My friend Mentioned he locked up once, but thats been it so far. rpnightsend
I tried the solo play out too. I liked it. The vanguard vet and techmarine seemed a little underpowered in single player, they don't really have enough crowd control. Maybe they're better in co-op. It locked up for me once but otherwise no complaints Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234081-space-marine-kill-team/#findComment-2818928 Share on other sites
Grizzly_bear
I just purchased this game 3hoyrs ago and me and my best mate have played a few campaign levels and more 'survival' modes....he was a stengaurd and I a vanguard, that combo for us dominated the ork and tyranids...plus side we've unlocked so much....I have enjoyed this game non stop and consider a fantastic but for only 800G....looking forward to main game though....SPACE MARINE Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234081-space-marine-kill-team/#findComment-2818961 Share on other sites
Sparhawk
Does anyone know if it supports online Coop or is it Local only? Local only, no Online co-op at all. Darn. If it offered online co-op it would be a no brainer for me, but I don't have anyone to play Local with and I'm not sure Solo is going to be enough to do it for me. Reldn
If you haven't yet, you could always download the trial and see how well you'd like the game solo....and of course if you've gotten the trial version already, disregard this! *laughs* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234081-space-marine-kill-team/#findComment-2819024 Share on other sites

Ace Debonair
Just tried the trial version. Seems pretty good - might wind up buying this, haha. As chuffed as anything that I can play as White Scars, but disappointed the trial version couldn't let me play a Techmarine. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234081-space-marine-kill-team/#findComment-2820116 Share on other sites
Ironwrought Huw
I've completed it as a techmarine, sternguard and I've done the first 2 missions each as the librarian and sternguard. No co-op for me though :P I completed all the survival missions to gold standard - I'm an awful video game player - I can die on tutorial missions which lack enemy fire - it seems too easy to me, I got gold on my first attempt. The campaign though? Blood of the Machine, it aint easy. I had to restart the engine destruction section alone 7 times. Because of me (and that blasted carnifex!) , the Ultramarines no-longer have any armoury staff members. That said, it's undeniably fun. To say I enjoy playing as the techmarine would be an understatment - I'm practically giggling with glee as I smash ork skulls in with my servo arm. I have to say that the techmarine is also probably the easiest class to play as - your range attacks are powerful, your closecombat attacks are very useful but not super-powered, and your deployable turret buddy is the most useful special feature. Can someone please tell me what the sword (something wrath)power-up does? I can't work out what it does. I hope the multiplayer of Space Marine has the techmarine as a class (preferably more codex-like, I can do without the turret), otherwise I'm going to be pretty disappointed... peetvanpeebles
Sword wrath doubles melee damage. I thought it was a nice little budget game, not bad for the price. Ironwrought Huw
All I've read (from Kotaku and a few other sites) is that PSN is getting this 'later in the month' This being the world of gaming, that could mean tomorrow, it could mean next Wednesday, or quite possibly the 30th... I haven't seen any reason why it hasn't been put up yet, not even the classic "technical difficulties" Edited July 16, 2011 by Huberticus Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234081-space-marine-kill-team/#findComment-2820638 Share on other sites

swooshfinn
A friend of mine downloaded it earlier this week, we had a small session with no problems, I ran Sternguard while he ran Tech or Librarian... we didn't have any freeze ups, and had such a good time with it, are looking into making our own table top rule conversions Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234081-space-marine-kill-team/#findComment-2821173 Share on other sites
Demoulius
bought and played through the game :) its a nice arcade game but not nothing much else. expect to finish it and then lose interest in it. unless you got a friend whos interested in trying coop in which case you might get a few more hours out of it :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234081-space-marine-kill-team/#findComment-2821520 Share on other sites
Plaguecaster
Is it possible to get this game without downloading it from the playstation network as I cannot get on it at all due to having really slow internet where I live, I have to go to the public library just to get on the internet which sucks. Gaz Taylor
Kill Team is a fantastic game. Each of the character classes play differently and it's satisfying seeing a Ork get a bolter round to the face. It looks good and sounds good. It is however a very short game as it only has 5 missions for the 'story' but each level is fun and you get to kill lots of xenos and blow things up. The game has some extra life due to a survival mode but that's about it. Even so for 800 points (or for free if you win a copy :cuss ) it's a great game and well worth getting a copy. All I've read (from Kotaku and a few other sites) is that PSN is getting this 'later in the month' :) This being the world of gaming, that could mean tomorrow, it could mean next Wednesday, or quite possibly the 30th... I haven't seen any reason why it hasn't been put up yet, not even the classic "technical difficulties" It hasn't gone up as Sony are being stricter with what goes up on PSN due to the "issues" earlier this year. Also due to the problems there has been a backlog of releases from other developers which are being reviewed as well. ;) Is it possible to get this game without downloading it from the playstation network as I cannot get on it at all due to having really slow internet where I live, I have to go to the public library just to get on the internet which sucks. No - You can only get it via XBL or PSN. My internet connection sucks as well so I feel your pain. Can't you take your console round a friends/relatives house and download it from their connection? EDIT - A copy may work it's way onto a cover disc of a magazine over the next few months so you could wait for that? Perrin
I've only played the trial so far but do you get more Chapters to choose from in the full game? Wasn't happy that i couldnt be a Space Wolf :D So far im stuck between buying this or the add-on for DA2, DA2 is awesome but this is fun and gives goodies for Spacemarine Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234081-space-marine-kill-team/#findComment-2830624 Share on other sites
