kharn_the_betrayer
Fluff-wise how is Ragnar the first SW ever to go from BC to WL? Ragnar didn't go straight from Blood Claw to Wolf Lord; he went to Wolf Guard first. Is that what you meant to write? as far as i'm aware our vehicles are all manned by space wolves, most of them beeing grey hunters i believe. valerian might be able to give you a quote Yes, I've read somewhere that most vehicles are crewed by Grey Hunters. I'll have to find the source later though. I just moved and have several days worth of work ahead of me to get the new house in order. V I thought I read that as part of King's books, I can't remember where exactly, but it said that, but it is mentioned that at least Thunder Hawk duties are handled by Grey Hunters and that Ragnar thought about becoming a pilot at one point. Chapter Master Ignis Domus
He just got back from picking up those PDF troopers after scouting an area with his squad. It's right before the bit with the Inquisitor vs. Wolf Lord stand off. It's also the part where they mention a troop transport speeder. Freman Bloodglaive
Second edition codex also commented that Grey Hunters crew armoured vehicles. spjaco
So are these Grey Hunters attached to a Great Company or the Armory? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234113-fluff-questions-for-lone-wolves/page/2/#findComment-2823981 Share on other sites
Max_Dammit
each chapter has his own vehicles so there part of the company as far as i know they have there own Armory and weapon forges in the fang, but i could be wrong. The Drivers are people that really like machines but don't want to become Techmarines and are not servitors. They just want to driver vehicles. I remember reading somewhere about a wrecked vehicles and one of the Marines had to give the driver a weapon so he was armed. Chapter Master Ignis Domus
The drivers should be armed though. They're still marines. Haven't you seen the bolter in the passenger bay of the Rhino? Haven't you seen the bolter in the passenger bay of the Rhino? yea in the passenger bay not the in a gun rack behind the drivers head. Well anyways I think it was a Thunderhawk or something like that. Well back to topic.I think that Lone Wolves would be given any wargear that they thought that they would need to complete their vows. Chapter Master Ignis Domus
But what else would use the gun for? Marines have bolters that they can mag-lock to their armor. Marines have bolters that they can mag-lock to their armor. you got me with that one and if you notice it dosen't have a clip in it. are we seriously going to take the interior of a rhino model as a way to document our fluff? :) seriously? then consider this, how comes the razorback can fire? the underslung feed belt leads nowhere, the same goes for those twin linked assault cannons on your crusader? surely this must mean it cannot fire. besides, until now i can't recal GW giving details about the drivers copula in a rhino. for my part it could even include a hot tub made out of bolterclips to load that bolter in the back with, or a funky jukebox playing some songs of olde etc... LoneSniperSG
Yes, I know in fluff terminator armour is only worn by the first company, but just because they only need 100 suits doesn't mean that that's all they have. Battlefield attrition would quickly wipe out an army that relied on having only one of any particular weapon per man, and rare and expensive as terminator armour is, the marine inside it is still worth more than the armour. termie armour is only worn by first company veterans because it takes special training in order to be able to wear it. its not as simple as plugging them in like in power armour. Consider how Ragnar had to learn how to wear his power armour in the BL series... the power increase, the feedback, the reactions, etc. Let alone the marine might have spent the last hundred yeras in a suit of power armour, now he's virtually got to learn how to walk again... Then to reach the skill and dexterity which he had before... We don't have first co vets to start with. There's no training with TDA when you already know PA. It's just bigger, heavier and slower. That's just taking time getting used to it. Chapter Master Ignis Domus
Sorry. It shouldn't interfere too much with the plot. Did I mention the three-headed monkey of doom who wields the mighty banana sword? :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234113-fluff-questions-for-lone-wolves/page/2/#findComment-2826297 Share on other sites
