Deathlok33
So I am going to start putting together a competitive GK tourny list for 2500pts. I would like to know some general tips. Ive always been a marine player but I thought I'd take a stab at the new sexy GK models. I'd be happy to hear what I should stay away from or be aware of. Thanks! jeffersonian000
Read some of the threads in this forum, would be your best start. Starting the new thread on a subject that's been cover in depth is probably not the best way to get answers to question that have already been asked multiple times. Toasterfree
take dudes in armor with guns and ccw. might want to get those dudes some trucks and some sort of fire support platform for those dudes in armor with close combat weapons and trucks. then you might want to get someone to lead them. LMAO. sorry couldnt resist man. :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234193-tournament-list/#findComment-2820545 Share on other sites
Tech-Priest
You are pretty vague in your question so it's hard to help... You considering a purifier list? A paladin list? Henchmen/Cotez? A balanced approach? Ultra competitive? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234193-tournament-list/#findComment-2820582 Share on other sites
Deathlok33
What I was generally looking for is "i know this seems awesome, but stay away from it cause its a pointsink." Haha. Like a bowling ball paladin squad with 2 independent characters for 3 hammerhands. I want to be competitive, but not in a mathhammer/min-max way. I like fluff to an extent so i dont wanna run 6 squads of 10 death cult assassins with 3 storm ravens, 3 raiders, coteaz and another inquisitor like my friend does. Deathlok33
Or rather, whats the biggest mistake new GK players make while list building? Maybe that is a more accurate question I should have asked up front. thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234193-tournament-list/#findComment-2820899 Share on other sites
Brovius
Deathlok, Hammerhand doesn't stack unfortunately. But you can have a Quickening of Titan Librarian to make a squad of S6, I10 grenade-throwing Paladins/Terminators though, which is also pretty nasty. Mastercraft their weapons for extra killyness  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234193-tournament-list/#findComment-2820941 Share on other sites
Gaz1858
Im sure the rulebook faq has said hammerhand does stack. For the OP tgere isnt neccesarily a wrong thing to take or do. Youve been pkaying 40k with another army so you know the basics. Just build a balanced list and playtest it, dont overpower one section of your army at the cost of another. Make sure you understand the rules of your units and what you want that unit to do. Brother Valerius
Im sure the rulebook faq has said hammerhand does stack. Hammerhand does indeed stack per the BRB FAQ, but you need to get different sources to cast it (per the same FAQ). So it's technically possible, but a technique with limited use.
