thade Posted July 16, 2011 Share Posted July 16, 2011 The Dreadknight model is huge; I haven't seen them up next to one another, but I don't think the new dread is big enough. I wouldnt use as a dreadknight though as some people who play chaos frown upon the idea ;) I'd also find it confusing if you used it as a dreadknight while I had one as a dreadnought for my chaos marines... thade Posted July 20, 2011 Share Posted July 20, 2011 If the Dreadknight and Contemptor are close in size but the DK is slightly taller, you could easily jack the Contemptor up on a rocky/taller-than-usual base to compensate. There are terrain pieces behind which you can hide the contemptor easily that the DK will be head and shoulders over; also the base is far smaller, so the Contemptor can fit thru smaller gaps and be engaged by less models (in massive tar pits). It's not hate. In many cases it's unfair to your opponent. biglou666 Posted July 22, 2011 Author Share Posted July 22, 2011 forcystus, that pic made my day xD @ thade, its my intention to buy the oval valkyrie/ dreadknight sized bases for my contemptors. Considering that helpful comparison pic (thanks btw) i would probably add a considerable amount of bulk to the bases, with some nice scenery to get them up to a similar size :D i wouldnt be using them in tournaments, unless it was a friendly one.
