DantonTH
Hey! I got lots of space marine scouts (+30), those old metal versions that have boltpistol and knife. I also got Mephisto from somewhere so i started to think making Scout-heavy Blood angels list. Is there any point? I think the point would be that using cheap troops so I would get those extra points invested into something like Astorath the grim (as scouts have that red thirst ability also, right?) and get some deathcompany units. Is this making any sense? Can anyone tell me some better way of using "assault" scouts? (Second option was making them as black templar initiates)
Taranis
If you expand with boxes of HB scout boxes and convert some to missile launcher models you could get many infiltrated units. Perhaps combat squadding. Too bad sanguinary priests can't infiltrate with them. FnP makes them fast and furious in cc. Perhaps 3 Devestator squads with rhinos for them to borrow. :(
Drachnon
Sounds like a fun list. To answer your question yes scouts do have red thirst and therefore benefit from Astorath the Grim's shadow of the primarch ability. Astorath and 60 scouts with close combat gear would be 1060 points. If you add a powerfist to each squad you'd get to 1210 points. So I'm guessing you'd want to add something more to this then just the scouts. You might consider a techmarine and give a squad camo cloaks + sniper rifles (2+ cover snipers). (50 for techmarine 30 for camocloaks but if you drop the fist in this squad its only 5 points more). There's also the scout bikers who are 210 points for 10 scouts bikers give the sergeant a fist again and you're at 235. If you're willing to go 2k you could field the following: Astorath 5x 10 close combat scouts with a power fist each. 1x 10 sniper scouts with cloaks 1x techmarine 3x 10 scout bikers with powerfist and clustermines. Exactly 2k
Fortunate Son
Or you could just outflank the hell out of whoever you are playing. Nothing like making the enemy move their gun-lines to the center of the table.

DantonTH
I Think I love the idea of outflanking scouts with furious charge (if they get it...)! + Ashtoroth and some death company people and maybe I "have to" play mephisto too, because I have the model :P I have already too many armies (even I have sold some of them) but I really don't have CC-in-your-face style army yet so maybe starting one more .... Castiel
What about adding a captain and making the 10th Company? Could make an interesting "in your face force" with a few scout bikers!
AGPO
Would be interesting as you don't see all that many scout heavy armies. Out of curiosity are shotgun scouts any use? I have a squad of ten kicking about that I was given by a friend but I haven't done anything with them.
