If you had to make an unbalanced 1500pt list?

Recommended Posts

Alright my brethren, question for you. What's the most compact, hardest hitting, survivable list you've ever made or would make at 1500?

I've got a 1500 league that's starting up, and I want to run something no one expects. EVERY army will be in play, from wolves to 'crons , but it doesnt have to be all comers .. just expensive, small, tough as nails, and can bring the hurt. Thoughts?

No one would expect a blob of 30 Death Company all with Jump Pack and Thunderhammers!!!! >.>

Particularly at 1500 points, given that that unit comes in at 1950 points and has no HQ :P

Personally I'd go for Dante, Lemartes, 30 DC with JPs and 2 Hammers

If just those minis would move by themselves the list would auto-play :D

Unbalanced is one thing, but without Astorath to split the DC into two units the list is unplayable. Unless of course, you threw a Death Company Dreadnaught with blood Talons in there.

Not sure what the dreadnought really adds to that list. A taloned dread is for dealing with heavy infantry but they'd go down under weight of attacks anyway.

Not that this is a serious list by the way. Just saying...

EDIT: Just did the numbers. 10 power weapon attacks at I6, followed by 112 normal attacks at I5 and 6 hammer attacks at I1. And that's assuming a non-buffed Lemartes. All attacks re-rolling misses and Lemartes and the DC re-rolling failed wounds. OUCH!

The dreadnought adds a second Troop unit to an army that only had one. It fits the theme of a DC army, is pretty killy and would still let you have fun and precision bomb a 32-man unit anywhere you wanted on the table.

Just my two cents.

Youre gonna find that at 1500 its very difficult to "break"

You can do one uber squad of DC in a Raider, but the rest of your army is gonna be limited.

Within your parameters id be looking at:

Mephy

Chappy

Priest

9 DC - PW, 2PF

Land Raider

10 RAS - 2MG, PF

10 RAS - MG,Flmr, PF

3 Attack Bikes- 2MM, 1HB

3 Attack Bikes- 2MM, 1HB

I dont think its epic-good. But, its definitely hard, and resilient. Packs a decent punch, is only 9 KP (3 in the Raider) and generally quite tough to whittle down.

If you're looking for more hard hitting than that, id go with Assault termies in a raider with a Rage Libby and then fill out the troops with something resilient.

I made a list of Astorath, Lemartes, 4 DC with JP/PW in a Stormraven. 9 DC with 2 fists and bolters with chappie with fist in a drop pod. 9 DC with 2 fists and CCW with chappie with plasma pistol in drop pod. DC cread with lightning claws on the stormraven as well.

Here's something I've been thinking of running. Just for fun really as I'm pretty sure it's stoopid

Dante w/ Honour Guard in Stormraven w/ twin-linked mm

Sanguinary Priest w/ jump pack and melta bombs and Sanguinary Guard in Stormraven w/ twin-linked mm

Sanguinary Priest w/ jump pack and melta bombs and Sanguinary Guard in Stormraven w/ twin-linked mm

Comes to exactly 1500pts

Would be better at 2000pts as you could pimp the Honour Guard, take extra armour for the Stormravens and add a few infernus pistols or power fists to deal with enemy tanks but I figure you drop off your boys all on one side and try to work your way through the enemys troops and the Stormravens just fly around taking out vehicles/MC's ect. with the mm's
