The initial weapons loadout will be DB turbo lasers (they simply outweight all other carapace options imho) Volcano cannon and Gatling blaster.

All weapons will be switchable as Im definetely going to make Vortex missiles for some table cleaning ;)

Ill eventually make all weapon choices - and the quake cannon is the next in line deffinetely! Appart from the mediocre art in apocalypse is there any other resource for the Quake cannon's looks?

Ok I got all the remaining polysterene parts to finish the prototype and got to work.

I put the arms together and crossed my finger for the thing not to topple over. Fortunately Mork and Gork were by my side (I pray to them often as they seem to pay attention to me for some odd reason) and the whole thing balanced nicely.

The Volcano cannon probably needs to be shortened a few centimetres which is pretty easy since each part of the gun is a 3cm part. The Turbo lasers ended up meeeeh, so Ill have to find an alternative to making those. PVC tubing? Any suggestions?

For a few days the idea of putting orange working lights in the interior to shine through various openings has been twisting in my mind. Ill try it out during the weekend. Ill even put the battery in the power generators that are missing at the momment ;)

C&C always welcome!

I am not sure yet. So far I am thinking somewhere along the lines of 350$ unpainted or 450$ painted. The materials come to about 60-70$ and the average time to build the thing should not be longer than 7-8 days.

The price is also open for C&C

I would honestly offer it flat packed with guide, shipping will be easier and probably more preferably, I for one would never buy anything built but that's me. that and $300 is rather steep for foam :D would entertain paying the asking price if it was literally detailed very well. :D

However on a modeling note its shaping up very well!

I've looked at the same thing for when I had finished my Warlord (i.e. selling it as a kit)

You have to be careful as GW's very talented legal department are quick to step on people who they see as infriging their IP. Though they can't complain if you are commissioned to build one.

That and given the materials used etc. it would be a little too easy to photocopy the designs once they arrive in the post and replicate the kit quite easily. I reckon the materials used for my titan would cost in the region of £30-40.

Not sure where I see the profit as how much would you pay for a kit? £100?

Given the amount of time spent developing the design you would have to sell a fair number to make any money back. Generally just a pain, I can certainly see the preference for commission build over selling a kit.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. The price of the commission will ultimately be decided once I know how long it will take me to assemble one from scratch.

On to the progress -

I finished all the weapons - Again the Turbo Lasers will need a remake, but Im leaving them on for the prototype. I used the comic "Titan" for further reference for the back structure.

Now all that's left is the detailing and the working lights. I hope to have it finished by Monday so I can start painting it.

C&C always welcome

Sorry for the long silence - Summer is not a good time to carry out this kind of projects :P

I primed and coated the prototype using an air compressor and a paint gun. I also primed the legs of the Titan coming up. I initially tried to do it using my airbrush but the thing was too big for that.

I am now making the turbo lasers since the initial ones were unsatisfactory.

http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l534/Kodopitharos/Warlord%20Battle%20Titan/100_0430.jpg

I am now using mostly Abnett's Titan Comic for reference . The next titan will be Imperius Dictatio himself ;) .

Next part is the painting part which I can see will be a pain. I am going to attempt painting the prototype with Chrome reflective effects with Non Metallic Metal techniques. A blasted cityscape will be reflected. We'll see how that works out.

Ill have to go to the local Gaming store and get a few pots of shadow grey.

I also cut enough parts to make 2 more Titans. The next one is going to be armed with the same weaponry, although the Volcano cannon will look like the one in "Titan".

Quick update.

Turbo lasers are complete. They are much bulkier now and closer to the comic.

Also I put a few aquillas on the arm weapon hardpoints and the side of the top generators.

Well, at last the thing is complete. To celebrate (and get an opportunity for some nice pics) I decided to come up with a fun scenario to use the Titan in a normal 40k game. The game ended up being a bust with the toned down titan being destroyed in turn 2 by 5 grey knights :P , but nevertheless here is the completed model.

What actually surprised me was portability. I didnt expect to be able to carry him and a 1750 pts army in my motor bike :tu:.

I am selling this as a commission. You wouldnt want this one because - being a prototype- it has a few flaws which I have worked on the future designs.

For Bolter and Chainsword members I am offering it for a 300$ fee primed unpainted, with postage included. At the momment the weapons I can build are the following

Arms

Gatling Blaster

Volcano Cannon

Quake Cannon

Powerfist

Laser Blaster

Carapace

Double Barelled Turbo Laser Destructor

Vortex Missile

Apocalyptic Missile Launcher

I can also customize the pose (although it rotates at the pelvis)and various symbols on it (i.e. Chaos Icons).

Painting it is a different thing altogether.

For this one I tried for the first time using non metallic metal chrome techniques. Not a bad idea since the Warlord has huge surfaces but I can tell now that NMM bring out a World of Warcraft cartoony feel.

Here it is primed

Here is the first completed titan out of the production line. This one is based on Imperius Dictatio.

This one is 2 inches higher than the prototype.

The next one is going to be fully painted and with full painted interior. I am currently designing the Plasma Destructor for it - Got bored with gatling blasters.

C&C welcome!

Wow those titans look great, much better then they did at the beginning! I think it's too late, seeing how well accomplished these titans are, but I recalled a guy who also did an amazing warlord conversion years back and I thought I would post it for reference, but you look like you don't need it.

I got another commission for a Legio Ignatum painted warlord titan with two blastguns, a laser blaster and a plasma destructor

The challenge is that it needs to be a little more ornate with stuff like the following torch

http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2010/12/9/162501_md-Dreamforge,%20Leviathan,%20Titan,%20Walker.jpg

anyone have an idea of anything out in the market that could be used to make those things?

Here are the Plasma Destructor and Laser Blaster

maybe some toys? Anyways where was that model from? o.O

No idea - the customer gave the picture to me.

At first I thought it was some kind of dreadknight conversion but its far larger.
