Captain Talon
I remember there was much controversy about the Arjac/JOWW combo when the SW codex came out, but I seem to remember someone telling me an FAQ made this legal. I just looked at the SW FAQ and I see nothing, so I thought I would check here.... So what's the word? ( sorry for bringing this up again, search engine didn't find anything.) Max_Dammit
A hit with the hammer of Arjac makes the target I1 for the remaining of the turn so yeah he has to take his JoWW on I1 you'll get lots of flack about this but there is nothing in the books that says the I test is done on your unmodified Initiative Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234481-sorry-if-this-is-a-rehasharjac-and-jaws-legality/#findComment-2822799 Share on other sites
Captain Idaho
Meh, it's pretty good combination if you can pull it off. After all, it's hardly game breaking. Getting hit by a Thunder Hammer is usually pretty terminal anyway. Ok the odd Daemon Prince or MC will get suckered this way, but the way I see it is dirty Xenos and heinous monsters from the warp deserve to die! Chapter Master Ignis Domus
It's really nice when you're playing Eldar. You whack the Avatar, Phoenix Lords, or a Wraithlord with it, and watch as they fall down a bit. Normally, they have a high initiative. MalachiOfRuss
It works great against big Tyranid beasties too. Like those Trygons (or Tervigons?) with T6 and 5 Wounds. Decoy
Works wonders against Mephistons and other deadly things with high I as well. Initiative be damned, Hammarjacing is one of the best ways to wipe -anything- that isn't in a squad (or even if it is, if the fool decides to take the hit with an IC, hoping the invulnerable will hold.) Umm, being in a squad is irrelevant - you can't allocate the removal. The rule states "models that are touched by the line" take an I test, and "If the model fails the test, remove it from play.". As such, there is no save against this ability either, no Invulnerable save, nothing.
