arutha
Purple hurts my eyes... Anyways a few guys ive been working on for a DIY Chapter, I had started a while back and never made it past an army list. Let me know about the color scheme. Tried to keep it nice and simple in hopes of finishing something for once. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee56/newsouth72/gf1.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee56/newsouth72/gunstrap.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee56/newsouth72/gf2.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee56/newsouth72/gf3.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee56/newsouth72/gf4.jpg Sternguard (top of the beakies pack needs to be cleaned up, failed Banner attempt) http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee56/newsouth72/gfd1.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee56/newsouth72/gfd2.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee56/newsouth72/gfd3.jpg Dreadnaught "Goliath" Anyways lemme know what you think about the color scheme. subtlebrush
That red is phenomenal and that Dread base looks amazing what did you use for that? Great start. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234564-diy-chapter-wip/#findComment-2823661 Share on other sites

arutha
The base is from BacktoBasix or whatever they are called on ebay. Ive got another AOBR dread "Samson" hacked in a million peices to be reposed. Turned out to be alot more difficult than I had first thought. tiny sam
Good job on the dread, might I suggest the use of Guitare strings to rebuild the cables you had to cut down in order to repositionnate I did it for my chap dread and it worked well Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234564-diy-chapter-wip/#findComment-2823720 Share on other sites
arutha
Thanks Sam, Ive been wrestling with a pair of tweezers to get the strings in place. I actually saved the original plastic ones and they almost fit. May just wind up trying to re use those. arutha
So here is an update with the sternguard complete. I switched the helmets on the vets to a bone color so that they will stand out from the other members. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee56/newsouth72/rf14.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee56/newsouth72/rf11-1.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee56/newsouth72/rf12-1.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee56/newsouth72/rf13-1.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee56/newsouth72/rf14-1.jpg Next up is the rhino for this squad. Brother Delacroix
Really, really nice. I love the contrasting red and green on the sternguard, and now with the bone coloured helmets they just look amazing. Lestat
Very nice scheme you have there - the dark red and dusty looking green work very well together. Theres just one thing thats niggling me a little - I keep getting the urge to sing Jingle Bells for some strange reason............................. :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234564-diy-chapter-wip/#findComment-2853290 Share on other sites
Vulkan He'Dan
................ They look amazing brother, what colours did you use for the red, its astonishing. Love the contrast of the vets helmets compared to the rest of them. Again amazing stuff; will be keeping a close eye on this. arutha
Here is the WIP of the Rhino for this sternguard squad. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee56/newsouth72/rhino3.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee56/newsouth72/rhino2-1.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee56/newsouth72/rhino1.jpg First attempt at some freehand. I think it came out ok. need to do some touch ups. Still quite a bit to do on this rhino. Anyways the freehand is going to need some text. I am basing this army on a fist successor. Mostly because i have alot of fist bitz lol. The Red is base of scab red, several coats.... Wash with devlan mud darkens it more and smoothens it out. First highlight scab red, 2nd highlight is scab red and Reaper blood red, 50/50. final highlight is pure reaper blood red. You have to go back and glaze with scab red to smoothen the transitions and tone down the pink the blood red dries to. Thanks for looking.
