Well working on a new pack now. Hopefully will be done and mounted on the new bases by the end of the weekend if the wife will leave me alone. Hahahahahah!

Powerfists. I am trying to figure out if I am going to paint the fingers to have them break up the grey on the fist. I really can't stand yellow and black hazard stripes because really, who are you saying caution, the enemy?

Maybe just red.

Maybe just red.

Red on a PF always makes me think of blood claws.

Maybe have the powerfist mainly bare metal grey, with a few edges of paint in Chapter colours nearer the wrist, to represent the paint being stripped off by constantly pimp slapping everyone?

Like it....there's a good technique using hairspray in the model masterclass FW book.

Basically, paint it as metal. Spray the are with hairspray. Paint like the rest of the model. Then use a firm brush to roughly rub off the top layer and expose the metal.

Worth a look.

yea i never really did see the reason for the hazard paint on things like powerfists. its like putting a bio hazard sign on a death guard trooper. brother do u have a good ideas on how to snub a autocannon barrel on a predator and then putting the muzzle back on it?

So watching some 13th Warrior while getting some work done on my plasmagun pack. I went with green as I like how it goes with the black housing;

What other colors do some of you use?

I use violet white, as this was the plasma I saw in real life.

Maybe this will help:

CF4: blue

SF6: white blue

SiF4: light blue

SiCl4: light blue

Cl2: whitish green

CCl4: whitish green

H2: pink

O2: pale yellow

N2: red to yellow

Br2: reddish

He: red to violet

Ne: brick red

Ar: dark red

When I think "plasma" I think ectoplasma from ghostbusters (first memories sort of thing, don't ask), but I don't know if I'd go with green for my guys. I've yet to paint any plasma for my guys b/c unless it's a heavy, I'm not a fan, and I haven't gotten around to my other LF units.

I think I'd probably go with a pthalo-hued blue-to-white to give it a more unnatural and energized and less "icy" look of a ultramarine-hued blue (the actual paint for oils and acrylics, not the GW army color paint). Either that or the violet-to-white like Kami.

Hey just a quick thought on the yellow eyes. Have you tried giving it a black basecoat? then yellow, leaving a black rim around the eye? it might accentuate the yellow more. Also perhaps use white first, then yellow on top to make it more stark?

Bit behind on the convo, but in regards to the Wolf Banners;

Doesn't get much better for Space Wolves imo :). Trying to get my hands on 8 of these.

I have that banner, and while it's awesome, it's a little too big for a PA marine. Looks great on Dreads, though.

what about tda i was thinking of making a honor guard for my WL and i need a banner does that one look to out of place on a tda?

I think you're doing a fine job on your force, and I'm waiting for more pics.

1. Power fits - Mine match the marking of the pack :

BCs - Yellow fingers, red tips

GHs - Black fingers, red tips

WG - Black fingers, yellow tips.

2. For parts of weapons/gear, which glow, I'll either use a bright green with yellow highlights or a bright blue with white highlights. I just go with what I want , on the model, at that time.

@Volsung - For using fantasy banners, any being carried by human-size models, work great with space marines. If its a banner carried by an ogre, a minotaur, and the like, the banner would be more suited for a dread, transport, or tank.

I hope I helped.
