Terminator and DC Attack Range

ok, simple.

following loadouts:

DC in Landraider

Assault Terminators in Landraider

DC in Stormraven

Assault Terminators in Stormraven.

ok, so i stand somewhere on the table, and i want to attack an enemy unit. how far can it be away and i'm still able to charge them? :P

Landraider can drive 12'', then i leave the vehicle in 2'', base of the Assault terminators has 40mm (1,5'') and then charge 6''.

StormRaven is similar, i can fly 12'', and then leave the vehicle.

this gives the following: 21'' attack range for a unit in a Landraider or Stormraven

is this right?

Might be wrong on a couple of counts but:

1. Can they run and assault? Wasn't aware that they had fleet but respect that I might well be wrong.

2. Do Stormravens have assault ramps? Again I wasn't aware that they did.

Can a raider not go 12 also?

Oh, also note that the Death Company Dreadnought does have Fleet, and so can disembark a Stormraven, run and then charge.

[Random not-entirely-related question: do you disembark from something, or do you just disembark something? I suspect you disembark from, but I'm not clear. I think this is probably a structure not dissimilar to "graduate" - American's often wrongly claim to have "graduated high-school", rather than to have "graduated from high-school". Anyone know?]

Post-disembarking, do you place the models as if they'd moved 2" out of the vehicle? It's not a huge issue, but you're claiming the 40mm base as part of your movement - I wonder whether according to the letter of the law that's acceptable?

As long as any part of the base is within the 2 inches for disembarking, you are good.

As long as any part of the base is within the 2 inches for disembarking, you are good.

That's pretty handy for Dreadnoughts and Terminators then as they have huge bases. So for a Terminator to get in to B2B with something he doesn't have to move as far :tu:

[brother_Byhlli, I believe you disembark from something. But you can also disembark something (like disembark your terminators from your Land Raider)]

Disembark, at least in 40K, can be used both ways. A unit can disembark from something ("I disembark my squad from the Land Raider and move.") and also simply disembark ("I disembark the Land Raider and get ready to assault you.") Both are grammatically correct as far as I am aware.

(The usage you imply is wrong above is actually accepted as an informal and abbreviated grammar; "disembark" and many other verbs function similarly.)
