Grimtooth
So I have played a Loganwing with modifications that has me calling it a hybrid Loganwing. Basically it is something along the lines of the following with variations: Logan (Duh) Rune Priest in TDA Venerable Dread in Drop Pod WGTDA x5 in Drop Pod WGTDA x5 in Drop Pod GH x10 in Rhino GH x10 in Rhino Long Fangs x6 Long Fangs x6 The basic premise is having 2/3 pods first turn, mobile GH, and high supressing fire from Long Fangs augmented by CML's attached. My theory is based on a "wave" style attack; Wave 1: Hardened Infantry pressuring the enemy via 1st turn drop pod assault rule. Logan with WGTDA in pod Rune Priest with WGTDA in pod Wave 2: Mobile Infantry rushing forward in support of Hardened Infantry. GH x10 in Rhino GH x10 in Rhino Wave 3: Dread support as needed, either at Hardened Infantry point of conflict or Mobile Infantry point of conflict Venerable Dread in pod This is all under the continuous long range support of each Long Fang pack with attached CML WGTDA. Now I have made little tweaks in various games. Dropping the dread for TWC fast support to either the Hardened Infantry or Mobile Infantry has been one build. Other times I have dropped the CML WGTDA adjusted some equipment and added Razorbacks to the Long Fangs. So what do you think about validity and effectiveness? Vantius
I love the idea of having waves of unit supporting one another. However, I think it may be more effective to have each wave, or pack, be able to deal with multiple threats. Combining the dread and with one of the rhino squads would be an example. That pack could deal with any enemy unit or situation, where as those two units separate are not as versatile. I also think the addition of the something like a vindi would be awesome. a vindicator, with a dread or lone wolf creeping forward would be killer. SamaNagol
Is there a thread where people have discussed the merits of 5 man TDA unit or 8 man mixed armour units with 2 TDA and 6 PA WG? Grimtooth
Is there a thread where people have discussed the merits of 5 man TDA unit or 8 man mixed armour units with 2 TDA and 6 PA WG? Not that I know. The mixed pack was a big deal with our old codex to max heavy weapons on the WGTDA. I really haven't seen it since the new codex hit because we are limited by the 5/10 requirements now. SamaNagol
Well a unit of: TDA, CF, SB, CML TDA, THammer, SBolter 2xPA, CCW & Combi-Melta 2xPA, CCW & Combi-Plasma 2xPA, CCW, Bolt Pistol Fits nicely inside a Drop Pod and is equipped for numerous roles, which is important for the 'LoganWing' force with a limited palette to work with Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/234688-loganwing-and-combinations/#findComment-2827013 Share on other sites
