My DIY Chapter

Recommended Posts

Ok, this is my DIY chapter...my three names I'm working on

-Knights Ardent

-Knights Errant

-Imperial Knights

Armour is chainmail(silver), white shoulder pads(black trim) with red templar cross. Gold eagle on chest.

Gene Seed--Imperial Fist

Home Planet: None, chapter is fleet based.

The chapter prefers drop pod assaults, and use of close combat weapons to engage the enemies of the Emperor.

Not much to go on just yet but i am sure more ideas will come to you over time.

I think colour scheme sounds nice and the combat doctrine is pretty sound, getting up close and person is the best way to know your havee killed your enemy!

Are they a fairly recent chapter, being created in the last space marine chapter founding or are they older?

This is the easiest; helps with the "what have they been up to all these millenia" question. :)

This will possibly be of help!! Click me! I am a thorough guide to DIY design!

Ok, I'm making them a 26th founding chapter, so there are more recent..

Now where do I place the squad of female marines :)

Were they trained by the Imperial Fists or one of the latter founding of Dorn's heritage?

Need to know what they are like in outlook and attitude.

I would say they are more of Black Templar in attitude and outlook. They hate the foul xenos, and look

for anyway to destroy them.

They would rather get in the face of the enemy and look into their eyes in battle, rather than bomb them from

orbit.

My space marines are modeled with chainswords, axes, and bolt pistols. I also have a several with heavy bolters, plasma

cannons and flamers...

Gene Seed--Imperial Fist

Home Planet: None, chapter is fleet based.

These two things are fairly common and go well together. Seems everyone that goes Imp Fists is fleet based, which works quite well with their backround, especially the more Templar-ish elements of the Imp Fists. Just don't make them BT successors.

The chapter prefers drop pod assaults,

This is the most common form of deployment for Space Marines. This either needs to be taken to the extreme, wherein they ONLY deploy from Drop Pods, or needs to changed to something more interesting and unique. While it is perfectly acceptable and in fact encouraged for your guys to arrive in Drop Pods, saying it like it is a unique aspect is not so encouraged, since the other 999 chapters do it too.

Cool. Not overtly unique, but still cool.

In general, it is a decent idea to keep the fluff and the models as separate entities. It might seem weird at first, but when you look at how poorly Space Marine awesomeness translated in game, and vice-versa, it makes more sense. While it is never a bad idea to keep the idea of your minis in your head, justifying fluff with models or models with fluff rarely works out well. Develop the Chapter independently of how your marines look, and then make subtle changes to make them fit together, after you have all the main stuff down.

I think I been reading too many BL books, there seems to be more Thunderhawk drops than Drop Pods drops. Maybe I should

change this in my fluff.

I think that depends on what the said chapter has in terms of resources, drop pods tend to be used in mass as they are expendable compared to something such as a Thunderhawk.

That's true, but with all the BL books I have read, I think I can count the DP drops on one hand, but TH use is

widespread..

Now if I can afford a TH...

Michael

exactly..now put templar crosses on the shoulders

I'll have to leave that for you to do, I'm afraid. ;)

I have neither the required program (unless you count paint) nor the skill to apply badges.

Me too on that, I can paint them, but not apply them via computer :D

I have more of a background fleshed out, I just have to type it out..check back later
