Lorenzen
my only concern with your death speaker is that his legs look a little odd as youve increase the length of the thigh but not the shin which i think throws him a little out of proportion.. other than that it looks like solid work and im looking forward to seeing the skull face (and the fire angel ;)) keep up the good work! Khargan
my only concern with your death speaker is that his legs look a little odd as youve increase the length of the thigh but not the shin which i think throws him a little out of proportion.. other than that it looks like solid work and im looking forward to seeing the skull face (and the fire angel ) keep up the good work! Presume you mean the left leg raised up? it does look a little odd because it was a foot I sculpted back in my hayday, but we live and learn, I unfortunately forgot to add the layer to the bottom of the boot so rather frustrated with that. still a tonne of greening to go yet :S
Lorenzen
im going based on http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/argosis101/DSCF8679.jpg these pics in conjunction with the ones youve put up recently.. you've increased the length of the thigh but not the bottom half of the leg which makes him misproportioned (more so than a regular marine) the lower parts of the leg armour need to be made a little bit longer to bring him back into looking "right"
Khargan
hrm, I actually agree.. this may require some chopping on the rest, the Deathspeaker wont be getting the hack though, lol too much time gone into those legs haha
Lorenzen
you could cut them in half midway up the shin and add spacers there.. then greenstuff it to make it not look like a hack job.. I BELIEVE IN YOU!!
Khargan
soo, a bit on the skullface.. note this is the first base of green, the gum/teeth line is going to get a little trim as its too wide and juts out, cheek bone and bridge of the nose will also get a little more definition! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/argosis101/DSCF8900.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/argosis101/DSCF8902.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/argosis101/DSCF8905.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/argosis101/DSCF8906.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/argosis101/DSCF8907.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/argosis101/DSCF8908.jpg Many thanks go to the inspiration from buzZin on cool mini for this idea

Lorenzen
Dear Khargan, I hate you Sincerely Lorenzen. my only concern with the contemptor is the red & white on the shield.. it looks a little to fire angely to me (especially with the red knee too) and i think you would have been better off using the chapter symbol there.. (see vanguard brother skaran for example) afterall your colours are really metallic blue, yellow, red and black.. the painting itself however is fantastic and i will beat that fire angel model out of you (preferably with a step by step guide) if its the last thing i do *shakes fist*
Khargan
Dear Lorenzen I'm getting annoyed with you being right all the time... Harsh regards Khar  haha I even sat there thinking... chapter symbol? naaaaah! but you are bloody right... god damn you! :P slate clean and ill start it again now :P query.. yellow shield, red trim and axes? que? you seem to be my sub conscience speaking through a medium.. and yeesssssss I'll spray one up tomorrow and do the metalics if it kills me! I dont know.. tired.. going to scratch it up and make it fit in with the rest of le dread, clean doesn't look right to me! tired as hell... 4:30 am.. oh dear.. Lorenzen
looking much better, though a little more definition on the axe handles could be good, highlight the red next to it rather than highlight the black? the yellow border looks good, and i agree with it needing battle damage.. clean stuff just isnt right. keep up the good work and ill keep being annoyingly critical of it. :P

I think what allows me to do it is the fact I get distracted by many things so one thing is never rushed or worked on until tired as hell. usually always done in small steps when the inspiration is highest! Thank you for your appreciation :) quite often I am very unhappy with my own work and figure it could be a lot better but hey, we are all critical of our own work! Khargan
It is indeed, not so keen of the shots of the dreads torso, looks grimey rather than nice like the leg, but I guess it will shine through when the rest of the detailing is done, I am currently stuck with if the bolts should all be bronze and verdegris like the left shoulder or not.. also more importantly this guy gets a good dusting.. not sure what weathering dust to go for, I wanted to do orange but after the red scorpions love on GW site I don't want it to look like a copycat.. Khargan
I don't own one of these things you call imperial armour! not overly fond of dark brown though, doesn't really help the colour scheme "pop" which is already quite dark comparatively to other armies Easy.. very dark brown ala the transport pictures in your imperial armour :)
Khargan
Fighting with my camera to get a decent lit shot and honestly..
