Dorns Padawan
Very nice so far, I like how the too colours contrast with each other, the green looks especially well done. I also really like the colour you got on the bolter - Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235002-pellas-mirsan/page/2/#findComment-2832390 Share on other sites
Seva
That is so cool. I love the pose and the use of bits. What will the final colors be? Green and yellow? turelhim vampire
Cheers guys! The final colours will be green and yellow on the armour, and a black cloak with yellow 'spots'. The green and yellow stems from the original Salamanders colour scheme from (I think) rogue trader, one of the boxed sets had the Salamanders on the front cover in those colours, and I like them so much more than the latest colour scheme. The cloak design is based on the colours of the real life fire salamander, and is how I paint all my drake scale cloaks. I also got my Contemptor dread today, so I am really excited to get that and Mir'san finished. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235002-pellas-mirsan/page/2/#findComment-2832408 Share on other sites
turelhim vampire
Updates! Work progresses slowly, but it does progress! I only get maybe a couple of hours a day to paint if I am lucky, so I think I'm doing well  Anyway, photos - still very WIP: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235002-pellas-mirsan/page/2/#findComment-2836599 Share on other sites
Terminatorinhell
The paints look a little thick, also maybe trying to blend the highlights in would be helpful, especially using glazes and washes. Metal Apostle
I like the pose, but i'm of the mind that the heroes in the army should have more stature and height.... Perhaps a more scenic base and have him on higher ground? Perhaps a pile of traitor marines on the floor? I'll have to look that scheme up, it already looks cool on Mir'san and for some reason I want to see more of it. The only not-totally-green paint scheme I had seen before was where they were painted like actual salamanders where they were black with orange/yellow over it. Marius Perdo
I love the pose, for height you could put him on a big rock, pillar etc if you want a towering look. Just noticed the combi-flamer using the FW Umbra Ferrox (I think) and a normal flamer. Very nice take on a combi-flamer, so much so it is nicked  You should do a Librarium tutorial, I got one and my combi-flamer is poop comparesd to yours. Retributis
I think it's something to do with the Promethean cult and his standing within it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235002-pellas-mirsan/page/2/#findComment-2916652 Share on other sites
