CthulhuChild
So I recently went back and started expanding my old chaos army, which was done by drybrushing red gore/blood red and inking with flesh wash. Nice effect, quick and easy way to make tabletop quality. PROBLEM. GW no longer makes flesh wash, I am down to my last half bottle, and I just bought a ton of new models. Why did I buy them? I thought the Vallejo colors were exact matches. They were. In tone. GW old ink dried shiny. The new vallejo stuff dries... like poop. It looks completely different. Also, awful. I used to get a nice bright cherry red, now I get a reddish smear. It's horrible. I need an EXACT match for old flesh wash. It has to dry shiny. Anyone have an idea? I've included a picture, but the pictre doesn't do a really good job of showing how awful a job my "replacement" ink does. It is more than a case of just needing a gloss, although I will try that tommorow. http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac194/CthulhuChild/2011-07-27_18-50-39_229.jpg?t=1311803597 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235115-help-need-a-shiny-fesh-wash-replacement/ Share on other sites
Lorenzen
coat d'arms ink wash flesh will be an EXACT match, as its the old gw ink in a different bottle. or you could just gloss varnish your models after using the vallejo stuff to acheive your effect.. gives the added bonus of protection too. if that doesnt work you could add gloss varnish into the vallejo version.. always an option. personally i dont see why you'd want shiny models or washes unless it was for metallics and only metallics as the current gw washes will kill any shine.
