space marine schnauzer
I'm sure this isn't the right way to create a IA but here's mine..I got more to put in but so far Michael SPACE MARINE CHAPTER--KNIGHTS ARDENT FOUNDING--25th M40 GENE SEED-Imperial Fist CHAPTER PLANET-None--chapter is fleet based CHAPTER MOTTO--PURGE THE XENOS FROM THE EMPEROR'S SIGHT CHAPTER BATTLE CRY--DIE XENOS! CHAPTER COLOURS-CHAINMAIL ARMOUR, WHITE SHOULDER PADS(BLACK TRIM), GOLD CHEST EAGLE, TEMPLAR CROSS(RED) ON PAD COMBAT STYLE-CHAPTER PREFERS CLOSE COMBAT TO SEE THE FEAR IN THE ENEMIES EYES. HISTORY In 650M41, the High Lords of Terra decreed a new Adeptus Astartes chapter was to be raised to combat increased xenos activity on the outskirts of known space. Word was passed to the Adeptus Mechanicus to prepare gene seed for this new chapter. The tech priests of the Mechanicus scoured the gene seed bank to procure sufficent genetic material, and Imperial Fist gene seed was selected. First recruits were selected from Terra, all future recruits would be taken from throughout the galaxy. A small train cadre was taken from the Black Templar veterans to train these newly created marine force. In 700M41, The Knights Ardent were blessed by the Adeptus Ministorum and given their chapter banner. 701M41, the Knights Ardent were dispatched to a planet in the Segmentum Tempestus. A message was recieved by astropaths on the strike cruiser "Sword of the Emperor", a large Ork Waaagh had invaded the hive world designated RW1731 and the surrounding moons. When the battle fleet reached orbit, the second and fourth drop pod assaulted in and around the hive city Zodron, the capitol of the planet. Scouts, assaulted via thundhawk gunships the orks on the moons. After several months of heavy fighting the orks were purged from the planet. 703M41 to 745M41--further battle with orks within the Segmentum Tempestus. 745M41-battle barge "EMPEROR'S MERCY" destroyed by Ork space hulk impact--most of the 6th company lost. 750M41--the Knights Ardent rescue scientists on RS454 from attacks of Eldar. Heavy fighting in and around the research station continued for several months. 757M41--assisted in the blockade of Hydra Minoris. 760M41--Several Ork Waaaghs confronted and destroyed.. 770M41 to 800M41 withdrawn to Terra for refit and retraining. 800M41 to 810M41--attached to the Ordo Xenos in the purging of the Ork incursions of the southern fringe of the Segmentum Tempestus. Chaplain Rourke The Fanged
It is hard to believe that the High Lords would allow a new chapter to be trained by the BTs. They don't exactly play by the rules and often piss off the High Lords. I can't see them letting a group of BTs go off and train up another chapter that could become just like the BTs. Would it be better for them to be trained by Imperial Fists? I was going for the more "knight" angle.. ChaplainMathreyn
Just remember... Even a successor of the Ultramarines doesn't Act at all like the Ultramarines... Look at the Mortificators, for example... You could, literally, pick ANY Imperial Fists successor, and still retain the core "stubborn honor" of the Fists, with dashes of difference to make them more interesting, for example. And Terra is off limits... Totally... Remember the LAST time Space Marines came to Terra? There was this big siege thing, and billions died... Unless you are the Imperial Fists, who had long ago declared themselves the Emperor's Guard, or another high ranking Imperial official, you really aren't getting close to the heart of the Imperium... It is far to important. Also... Instead of a timeline... Flesh stuff out... I REALLY, don't care about the blockade of Hydra Minoris... I don't... Unless you plan on incorporating it into the flavor of your Chapter, that is... "It was during the blockade of Hydra Minoris, that the Chapter's faith in itself, was rocked to the core..." or something... Also... Don't get caught up on making your Chapter "cool"... Cool, is a temporary value... Make them Interesting... For example, "My Chapter uses specialized bolters..."...is cool... Oh wow... You mean they Don't use regular bolters like every Other Space Marine spread throughout the Galaxy?... Really? No... Tell us how, for example, a Chapter Master's narcissism in his ability to command almost led the Chapter to the brink of extinction... Cause with Imperial Fists, and their successors, you Know pride is Totally going to get you in trouble... ChaplainMathreyn
Dont forget the Wolfblade! I don't talk about the Flea-Bitten Chapter, here... >:) And... I Guess it's good...You really don't Have anything to judge though... I mean... You have the car's chassis, but... People really don't judge a car by it's chassis... Chaplain Rourke The Fanged
Unless Hydra Minoris affects the character or organization of the chapter keep it out of your IA. You only have 3-5000 words to use and the word count will fill up quick if you keep unnecessary information in there. space marine schnauzer
Here it goes again.... In the year 650M41, the High Lords of Terra decreed in order to stem the tide of xenos incursions in the Segmentum Tempestus, a new space marine chapter would need to be raised. The order was passed to the Adeptus Mechanicus to procure proper gene seed to create a new chapter. After searching the gene seed banks the tech priests selected Imperial Fist gene seed. A small cadre of Imperial Fist and Black Templar veterans trained these new marines. Trained in both seige warfare and extreme hatred of xenos, the chapter grew in strength. The chapter was given the name "Knights Ardent" to reflect their fervent loyality to the Emperor and the intense hatred of all xenos. In 700M41, The chapter was blessed by the Adeptus Ministorum and given their chapter banner. The chapters prefered xenos enemy are Orks, but any threat to the Emperor or his Imperium will be attacked with the same force. The Knights Ardent prefer close combat, but will employ any means needed to kill xenos. Chaplain Rourke The Fanged
You do need the 2 training cadres and I don't think it has ever happened. All you need to do is say Captain X of the Fists was selected to lead the training cadre. He was a one of the more pious space marines known for extreme xenophobia. Something simple along those lines would still produce the desired traits in your chapter without the gimmick of 2 training cadres. Reyner
Doesn't sound too bad, just a couple of issues with the newest info though. As said above a mixed training cadre is unusual and doesn't really add anything to your Chapter. The other issue is just the dates when your Chapter was founded. The latest Founding was the 26th which takes place M41.738 so your Chapter would need to be founded then or take it back to the 25th Founding which was sometime in M40. The dates are here in the timeline that is stickied at the top of this subforum. And just because noone has said this already (to my shock and horror :D) here are two very good guides that would help you out: The Guide to DIYing and the Octaguide 2.0 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235230-knights-ardent/#findComment-2839178 Share on other sites
space marine schnauzer
Ok, fixed the founding date..how is this.. A small cadre of Imperial Fists trained these new marines. Captain Drovanski of the Imperial Fists trained them in seige warfare and his extreme hatred of xenos, the chapter grew in strength. The chapter was given the name "Knights Ardent" to reflect their fervent loyality to the Emperor and the intense hatred of all xenos. In 700M41, The chapter was blessed by the Adeptus Ministorum and given their chapter banner.
