Coopervisor
I'm considering painting a squad in my Astral Claws force as Tiger Claws and was wondering what would be the best colours to use? http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Tiger_Claws Do I go all out black, or a really dark grey (like a Red Scorpions grey?). What sort of yellow to use, needs to be a warmer yellow, not too bright though. I don't think I'd be able to pull off the gradient on the thighs so would go for black/grey there and have the lower legs yellow. Is Gryphonne Sepia what I should be washing the yellow with? This is what i've come up with using the painter as a first try: Works out as Adeptus Grey, Golden Yellow and Boltgun Metal (for the chest insignia) I'm also wondering if anybody else had managed to pull this scheme off yet, most of the searches I've done just turn up the old style scheme or something very orange. Any tips or advice would be appreciated. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235239-tiger-claws/ Share on other sites
Sgt. Tiberus Satio
It looks to be perhaps a dark ebonite metal shade. I'd try using bolgun metal, chaos black, and codex gray or....the battleship grey? I can't remember what the name of it is, but it is a foundation grey. I would try different measurements of that so you can get the black shine down. Then yellow mix would be as you said, golden yellow with sepia as a wash would fit nicely I would think.
