Hi all. I was just reading dswanik's topic and thought I might start on another Wolf Lord, Bjorn Stormwolf. Feedback is welcome.

Howl of the Stormwolf: Bjorn's spectacular assaults reflect his impatient and aggressive nature, and invariably include lots of heavy weapons, bikes and vindicators - essentially anything that makes a great deal of noise. To show this an army that includes Bjorn can include a squadron of up to three vindicators or predators. Also units with the outflank rule lose it due to Bjorn's nature for up front assaults.

I agree with R_P_Rhapsody that the Storm shield and Belt of Russ are redundant. Redundant. ;)

 

I also notice that the points cost is for a Wolf Lord with the equipment listed and doesn't account for the extra HS slot in either points or a significant drawback. Most opponents are going to be hesitant to allow you a free extra HS slot especially when it could be used for another ML Long Fang squad (which seems to draw so much ire). I would consider dropping the Belt of Russ, increasing his cost to 250pts and limiting what the HS slot can be used for or adding some kind of drawback (perhaps no BEL Scouts to represent the full-frontal nature of his assaults?).

Here's a thought. Instead of a free "extra" HS slot, maybe fielding Bjorn could allow one Squadron of up to 3X Vindicators or 3X Whirlwinds to be selected? Vindicators in Squadrons could be self balancing by the need for them to both maneuver and shoot as a unit while most people don't seem to value Whirlwinds very highly anyway.

 

Other than that, welcome to the Wolf Lord bandwagon. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes. ;)

The Bloodied Hunter: Up to two units of Grey Hunters may be given the OBEL USR.

 

The Curse of the Wulfen: The sign of The Bloodied Hunter is associated with the Mark of the Wulfen, some even whisper that Bran has been seen to take on a different form in the heat of battle. At the end of the phase, if Bran takes a wound in close combat, roll a D6. On a 4+ nothing happens but, on a 3- Bran turns into Wulfen and gains the Fleet, Feel no Pain and Rage USR.

 

A Company of Wolves: Any unit which has the option to take a Mark of the Wulfen model must take the option.

To show this once per game, at the start of the movement phase, Krom can push his units to the limit. That turn any unit within line of sight and within 24'' of Krom gains preferred enemy.

 

The Reward of Valour: Krom keeps a great many Wolf Guard in his Company, for his Fierce-eye believes that valour should be rewarded wherever it is found. One Wolf Guard unit counts as troops in an army that Includes Krom Dragongaze.

Unholy Massacre: Gunnar has a habit to tear his foes appart. Gunnar adopted the Red Moon as his symbol after the invasion of the Bal'yth's Orb, where he claims to have killed so many Eldar that their blood stained the planet crimson. When surrounded Gunnar gets D6 extra attacks.

 

Favouritism of Power: Gunnar favours his Long Fangs more than most, for he reasons that veterans make best companions in the feast hall as well as on the battlefield. To show this one Long Fang squad, in an army that includes Gunnar, counts as troops.

Based on his description, I would give him Terminator Armor and Saga of the Bear.

 

I could only give him one Saga and based on the info about Bal'yth's Orb i gave him saga of the warrior born.

 

With Terminator Armour I thought that a Wolf Lord that blood thirsty would prefer to have move manoeuvrability. But I like your idea.

His fluff mentions he's a great bear of a man, which to me implies Saga of the Bear, and Terminator armor. If you look in the Space Wolves White Dwarf, there's a picture of a Terminator Lord with TH and SS that I think looks almost exactly like what he seems to me.
