Castiel
Hello! Here is a new chapter of my own devising. Chapter Name - Iron Wasps Founding - 18th (Early M35) Gene Seed - White Scars Homeworld - Vespula (feral world, covered in scrubland and deciduous forests separated by large seas and oceans) Fortress Monastery - The Iron Hive Battlecry - I'm working on it (Suggestions Welcome!) Combat Doctrine - Preference for close ranged firefights and assaults Chapter Colours - Any feedback/suggestions to help improve the chapter? Tomlev40
I like the concept. Guessing that because of name and heritage the Wasps like to do quick strikes and get out? Seems good. The name is bothering me though, never liked wasps, it just doens't fit a 1000 8ft tall armour plated killing machines. The colour scheme, as your are trying to get stripes, mabye some more contrasting colours. bilbo7788
A priori, I agree wasps are not the most impressive animals you can find... But don't forget the Titan Legion Ignatum aka Fire Wasps ! Lysimachus
A pity, I rather like the name, and I really wouldn't worry about the comparison. As has been said, if a Legion of 50+ ft tall mechanical monsters are ok with using a wasp as their emblem, I can't see why a Chapter of Marines wouldn't bee (sorry for a truly terrible pun :) ). Â Seriously, it could relate to their speed, the potency of their 'stings', their aggressiveness, etc, etc rather than their small size. This name has the merit of being original. In addition, a stripey color scheme could be very cool ! Maybe golden strips on iron... You can build many things from the concept of Iron Wasps: very quick strikes doctrine, extremly coordinated organisation... The_son_of_Dorn
How about that kinda scheme? a kinda symetrical wasp colour scheme with an iron colour body and back pack? or or use storm ravens and assault squads over biker units? still no dreadnoughts but make use of rapid deploying devestator squads or 'stinger squads' to destory enemy units? Castiel
Ok, the army is back on! Thanks for the suggestions, here ar my final 2 paint schemes: Not sure which to use, any preferences? For army composition I'm thinking Land Speeders, Assault Squads, Scouts in a LS Storm and drop pod tactical and sternguard squads . I do like the "Stinger" squads Idea, I may steal it! I really like the colours above from son of dorn, I borrowed a few bits from them to help my scheme! Thanks for all the help and encouragement! :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235299-iron-wasps/#findComment-2835352 Share on other sites

Ace Debonair
i like the second one better I disagree, simply because the crotch is a different colour from both the upper legs and the belt. Paint that grey, or the belt orange, and happy days. ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235299-iron-wasps/#findComment-2835376 Share on other sites

Chaplain Rourke The Fanged
I think that paint scheme is pretty good it looks better with the same color crotch/belt. Ace Debonair
Much better. :D Â Having the crotch a different colour from the rest of the armour around it is like painting a bullseye where no bullseye should exist. Ever. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235299-iron-wasps/#findComment-2835916 Share on other sites

Castiel
Just a quick question here, does anyone have an idea of when the 19th founding would have been? I'm thinking M34 or M35 (as the 21st founding was just before age of Apsostacy in M36). Any suggestions for a suitable range of years? Â All help much appreciated! ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235299-iron-wasps/#findComment-2838251 Share on other sites
Ferrata
This is your best bet. Neither source is correct, but it looks to be around the middle of M35 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235299-iron-wasps/#findComment-2838262 Share on other sites
Castiel
Thanks Ferrata! Having had a look at that I'm going to just say Early M35. I also changed to the 18th founding as I noticed the Astral Claws were 19th founding, and I want to avoid association with them.
