Wolf Guard Nostromo
Wolf brothers - I wish to bring your attention and opinion to something. I was perusing the Dark Eldar Codex -They are a (un)pleasant side project of mine at the moment- and came across the account of 'The Thieves of the Ice Mists' on pg. 22. Interesting little idea - It describes dark eldar abducting Space Wolf aspirants during their lone hunt and haemonculi apparently 'playing' with them or the gene-seed creating some 'brutes' who resemble Russ. As I say, I saw it and wanted to bring it to forum-wide notice, but also get other opinions on it. What do others think of this tale? It happened on Fenris itself! I'm looking to hijack inspiration really as I'm thinking of assembling my dark eldar grotesques around the idea that they are the poor transformed aspirants mentioned there. Rat Ogres as a starting point maybe? Has anyone tried modeling aspirants before either? Nos. red_starrise
I dunno what the odds of DE being able to enter Fenrisian orbit & then abduct people off of Asaheim itself considering how well defended & guarded the fang is which takes up the majority of Asaheim according to the fluff. IMHO it's just another way to try to make the lame knock-off DE cooler. But, as for modelling I like the size & bulk of Rat Ogres but that's where it ends for this, they're just too animal if you ask me. Even Wulfen aren't animalistic, they're atavistic & feral, altered, yes, but they don't LOOK like wolves, more like the wolf man (claws, fangs, furry hands & face but still mostly human). So, that being said, I'd think the DE tampering would make them more feral, enhancing claws, fangs, muscle, even bulk, but they'd still retain that recognizable as having been human before. commander alexander
I cry foul heresy! But Fenris and Asaheim have been infiltrated and invaded before on multiple occassions. DE with their twisted magiks could have done so. As far as I know the Fang does not make up the majority of Asaheim, it's just the biggest mountain there, and probably in the galaxy. Imagine a mountain whose base is the size of France in the middle of Russia. Emperor's Scourge
The DE can pretty much go where ever they please via webway portals that litter the galaxy. Its not like they parked their car on an iceberg and started BBQing.
