Heru2012
From the cover of Legion, his armour looks purple except from the shoulder fading to blue, this is what I think the armour colour of the Alpha Legion is like. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Ai3TT4Szc-A/SGneRHCmrtI/AAAAAAAABdg/r5Vyr1Bokmk/s1600/carpurple.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235319-alpha-legion-purple/page/2/#findComment-3138758 Share on other sites

Honda
Appropriately enough, this topic seems to surface every now and then. In another version of this discussion, and this was using the previous line of paint colors, those favoring a "purple" color liked the old Hormagaunt Purple. Some liked adding an Asurmen Blue wash to it if they were on the blue side of the discussion. The thing that intrigued me the most is the source of the description. Dan Abnett. It's not like he wouldn't know the difference between purple, indigo, and blue, so my personal interpretation of this is that the color described (i.e. purple) was used intentionally. It also wouldn't surprise me if the AL changed their appearance as it suits the situation because it seemed to me that the AL strive to control everyone's perception in every situation. SPOILER ALERT Note how energized Alpharius became once they realized that there was another player in the field that had been manipulating them. He didn't like that one bit. My two yen. Nineswords
I go with Abnett's interpretation. A 'rich purple', otherwise known as Indigo. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235319-alpha-legion-purple/page/2/#findComment-3141057 Share on other sites

Cheers, Well if you're the Primarch of a legion that deals exclusively with espionage and subterfuge techniques, one wouldn't be too pleased to find yourself on the receiving end of said tactics. The XXth don't go into an operation without complete understanding of every aspect of the undertaking. To them, being manipulated in turn indicates that they aren't in possession of every piece of information, which from an operational point of view is unforgivable.
