shin-ryu-ken
Ok so I'm nearly finished the first Eisenhorn novel and I'm loving it, I have the whole trilogy and will be reading them pretty quickly. I'm planning on making Eisenhorn and his retinue, I know some of them are bound to get killed so will pick a time scale with the most interesting guys in. Im also going to try and model the gun-cutter, probably wont be for a long while but doing some research now. I would like some help with the scale, according to the books it's 80m long so by my sketchy mathematics the model will be nearly a metre and a half! Seems pretty massive so maybe my maths are out cause I remember reading that a lightning was just under a quarter the size of it so something must be out (most likely my maths) Anyone know of anywhere I can get some more details on it? Maybe a picture or something? I mean an official one, not some random persons interpretation of it. Cheers for the help guys I'm not sure if this is the right place for this so if you can think somewhere better let me know Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235387-inquisitor-eisenhorns-retinue-and-gun-cutter/ Share on other sites

The one you can only get to from under the Gun Cutter so I would guess in all that its like five to six times the size of a Land Speeder at the most. JayeL
80 metres is the size quoted in the books and your calculations seem more or less right, I got it coming out at 1.667 metres in 40k scale. Too big really to scratch build and game with. chromedog
Just about right to game IN or ON though. The Rogue Trader rulebook mentioned leviathan class vehicles as being too large for tabletop, but could be an idea for a themed table themselves though. shin-ryu-ken
Yeah it is a bit too big really. Bummer! I was hoping to make an interesting inquisitor and retinue that I could use in a game and I really liked the idea of him having a personal ship to use too. Is there any other known inquisitors with a similar setup to Eisenhorn? Does Inquisitor Ravenor have a personal ship or does he roll with a massive crew and big ship? IIRC Ravenor basically commandeers a ship on a long-term basis, complete with Captain and crew. The Captain may or may not be reimbursed for his time. Chapter Master Ignis Domus
You could make the ship as a big piece of terrain and have small battles inside it. It would be excellent for a boarding map.
