How Many Ships Does A Great Company Command?

Wishful thinking. They are called the Space Wolves Chapter, clue is in the name!

Seriously though, if Ragnar Blackmane's Company is said to be the 2nd largest and is (going from memory so could be wrong) 220 strong, then that is a pretty small Legion, even for the old sized Legions!

And secondly, the Black Templars are half a Legion on the old numbers, around 5,000 strong, and are described as being a force no other force in the Imperium could take on. So are you saying half a Legion of Black Templars is superior to a whole Legion of SW, because I'm sure people here might have something to say about that?!

They are said to be a force no other could take on if they were all gathered in one place. Being far to concerned with setting up monasteries all over the place for Emperor worship does not count.

If Ragnar's is the second largest Great Company that would still put the SW over 2000 which has been suggested in Battle of the Fang. BT are half, SW are a fifth of the old Legion numbers. I still think the SW take the win.

I still think the SW take the win.

especially when you take allies into acount, after all logan's the most beloved commander in the imperium! the man even's got rules to represent it!
