Wolf Tail Talisman....how does it work?

Ok, I know, it is a 5+ to avoid being affected by an enemy psychic power.

 

But...what defines being affected?

 

Model is hit with Mind War.....he gets the save.

 

Model is hit by a Psyker Battle Squad's Weaken resolve....he gets the save.

 

Model hit by a Blood Angels Libby Dread that uses the power to get additional attacks...model gets no save.

 

Model walks into range of Null Zone....does he get the save and not have to reroll invulns? The power is not directed at him, it is passively on the caster....

 

Model gets hit with living lightning....save or no save?

 

Model gets hit with JOWW...save or no save????

The questionable one would be Null Zone. It sounds to me like the unit that is having it's Inv. save affected is "being affected" which triggers the 5+ nullify of the WTT, but I would be open to counter arguments. All the others are cut and dry - the BA Libby Dread is affecting himself with bonus attacks, the SW unit is simply getting more attacks directed at it - not being affected directly, and the remainder all are directly affecting the unit in some way.

useing the wttm against null zone does not make sense.

you roll your inv save 5++ 4++ 3++

the you roll wttm you make it on a 5+ same als or less then our inv save

you fail and you stillhave to reroll, your inv save 5++ 4++ 3++

it doet not work that good

 

some time ago i had an intersting discussion about the WTTM

this was befor th GK codex!!

 

that in case that a enemy model uses the instant death trick with a fore weapon

you can have a max of 3 stacked saves against it

1. a rune priest in range nullifies the power on a 4+(3+ for najal

2. wolf tail taliman a model or unit the barder of the wolf tail is affected by a psycic power

it is nullifide 0n a 5+

3. runc armour grant a 5++ against wounds coused bij psycic attacs

 

due to that all saves are rolled on an other moment in the game

1 after the power is cast

2 when the power hits

3 after the model gets a wound

point 1 and 2 are clear on this and are correct

 

but point 3 is complex in the rule book it say that no saves are allowed but,

the sw codex says that any wound's coused by psycic attacs grant a 5++ save

 

what do you think

If I'm understanding you correctly then the answer to this question is : Codex trumps Rulebook.

ie; If any enemy psychic ability would have an affect upon a model carrying a Wolf Tail Talisman, or the unit he is a part of / attached to. Roll the dice.
