Apothecary Vaddon
There's no doubt that 40k is basically a spinoff of a lot of the major religions, with a twist in that we're in a stalemate 10k years after the Crusade ended. All the Abrahamic religions have been hit more or less, Christianity being in the forefront, Judaism (? I can't think of too many examples about that parallel), and Islam (mainly Tallarn). But I agree with the point that we should probably keep it away from these forums. It usually ends up in banhammers, despite the goodwill of the OPs (which there certainly was this time around, I'm just afraid of some knuckleheads running away with it horribly. That said...about this theory. Well, it's workable. But like it's already been established, the Emperor basically saw everything up to the Heresy. Unless that gets retconned somewhere in an official source from the big E's point of view (him not being able to see the immediate future is fact, as far as I know, b/c there was a short in a WD issue that Bill King wrote way back when from the Emperor's point of view), or unless it's already been retconned and I don't know about it, I think we have to assume that the Emperor was basically winging it in the later portion of the Crusade up till the end of the Heresy. eyeslikethunder
He seems to be able see tens of thousands of years ahead in Mechanicum. At least he says he can. the Emperor basically saw everything up to the Heresy. I dont think the C powers are blocking his foresight as much as messing with it. Sort of like they do to Magnus/ Cabal getting them to see a future that will get them to take the actions the chaos powers want them to take. dustermaker
The way i see it, the Emperor sees a REALLY tough situation where Humanity MIGHT survive if he can pull off the hailmary(football reference) of a lifetime. Tough decisions must be made when it comes to life or death. Most people look at the universe with blinders on and only see what is right in front of them or bothering them at that moment. The Emperor see's the big picture, the survival of humans, you can't please everyone when you are in a position of power. Captain Idaho
The Outcast Dead is pretty good at revealing why the Heresy is occurring beyond the Emperor's control. You can't be all powerful and all knowing at the same time.
