the emperor is scottish
Has anyone had any degree of succes with bare chests or bare arms on their marines? If so what did you use? marauders, beast men or even catachan? I have a very distinct look for my death company but so far its stuck in my noodle. Dont want to start splashing the cash before i know it ca work. Also can anyone link decent green stuff tutorials? I need help badly when it comes to GS and i really need to make a cloth effect. Its for something as trivial as blind folds lol. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235765-burley-marines/ Share on other sites
winterdyne
Catachan IG arms work well for marines. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235765-burley-marines/#findComment-2839657 Share on other sites

madscuzzy
Anatomically the catachan bare chest do not really work... the pectorals don't go into the arms like they should, so the barechested ones do look a bit odd. Then again, they are really old models. Some of the latest ones, like Straken, would look awesome as a marine. GS is about its curing time. You can work on it until it is totally cured. It is sticker at the beginning but gets less so as time goes by. As it gets harder, you can add finer details (up to a point when the GS bounces back). Oh and always lubricate your tools. Contrary to what is said, water doesn't work with it very well. And oil based lubricant, like vaseline, or cooking oil even, will work better. MaliGn
I used some marauder torsos on some Slaaneshi CSM, worked ok. For an old-school look if you can get hold of the plastic goliath gangers for Necromunda then they can work, although are quite old. Kizzdougs
I've never tried using the Marauder torsos but i have used the arms on my marines. Marauder arm and shoulder pad. http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l522/kizzdougs/DSCN0266-1.jpg?t=1312980739 I don't think the arm turned out as well on the right hand Berzerker. The forearm looks a bit to long in my opinion. http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l522/kizzdougs/DSCN0286.jpg?t=1312980825 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/235765-burley-marines/#findComment-2843240 Share on other sites
the emperor is scottish
I think the beast men torsos and arms would fit perfect but im going to be using them on my Blood angel dc. Im kinda scared the fur and hair on the bodys would look to much for a loyalist even one as crazy as a death company marines.
