Yogi
I was wondering if people have ever tried using the tables in Death Watch: rites of battle (the RPG book), to create a DIY chapter, for their army? I just went through it and left it entirely up to the dice gods. I'm left staring at what is a pretty damn competent background, with zero effort. For the curious I rolled. +++ Name: Steel Sentinels Founded: 34th millennium Reason for Founding: Strategic Prognostication (essentially: the Emperor's Tarot demands the creation of this chapter) Progenitor: Ultramarines Gene-Stock: Pure Codex Demeanor: Purity above all (They hate mutants) Chapter Characteristic: Duty unto Death Figure of Legend: Battle Brother from the 1st company, 4th Squad Deed of Legend (relates to Figure): Lost in the warp and said to one day return. Home World: Hive World Home World Terrain: Desert Relationship with Home World: Distant Rule Codex Organization: Divergent Beliefs: The Emperor Above All Special Equipment: Bestial Companion (wolf/hawk/hunting dog etc) Chapter Status: Nominal (Full strength) Chapter Friends: Adeptus Mechanicus Chapter Enemies: Chaos Aligned Group (Chaos Pirates/Guard/Titan Legion - pick one) That's it. But I am quite tempted to flesh this out, and perhaps build an army of them. I know many people like to create everything themselves, but for me this chapter seems more tangible and these tables could also help people stuck in writing up their DIY. Culebras
Oh, I agree. I have the book and it gives a lot of good starting concepts that you can build on. Mazer Rackham
For the record, that's where I started with the White Paladins, (although the idea has had the hell beaten out of it and stuck back together with plastic glue) so with luck it's going to be a big thank you to everyone involved in building those tables etc. MR. Reyner
That would help me out alot. I can make up colour schemes then struggle with fleshing it out beyond the geneseed and names.
