I was thinking of creating a themed list around Ragnar Blackmane.

 

His fluff states that he prides himself on being the first onto the field of battle and the last off it. So what would Blackmane's strike force consist of?

 

I picture it being a force that would be carried out with the element of surprise; so I envision Drop pods, Land Speeders, lots of Blood Claws, not sure about Swiftclaw/skyclaws, no Heavy Support, but possibly some Wolf Scouts.

 

What do you think he would include?

In the novels he often has long fangs but I don't envisage many terminators other than that I think you have hit the nail on the head.

I can see him utilizing Wolf Priests often. IMO he has a penchant for Blood Claws, so having a Priest or three to keep them in line wouldn't go amiss. Your questioning Skyclaws and Swiftclaws shouldn't be an issue, I think; bottom line is that all three "Claws" are Blood Claws. You just have to acclimate yourself on how to best utilize their different aspects. Personally, I can only see myself fielding foot-slogging Blood Claws if they're in a Crusader along with Ragnar and a Wolf Priest (for Oath of War)... otherwise they're not worth the points and I'd much prefer Hunters.

 

Also, it was reiterated in another thread late last month that Njal Stormcaller has "attached" himself to Ragnar's company, so having him would be good.

 

I agree with Simo429 regarding the terminators. It just feels like Ragnar is more about lean, lithe models instead of bulky and cumbersome.
